He's a very average actor, so why does he keep getting all this movie work?

Some things I just cannot fathom. Anyone agree?

reply

Yeah, agreed - but does anyone stand out today?

Meaning, from the current generation of young actors.

Are any of them exceptional actors?

Not that I know of.

If you're casting a film, you have to cast somebody. The odds are, if you are going young, your casting choice will be a very average actor.

reply

I guess you're right there, Jacot.

reply

Fair point!

reply

He's a fairly decent actor, who has a very versatile appearance, meaning he could play a jock and a nerd (and did). He is a safe cast.

reply

He leaves me unmoved.

reply

90% of actors are like that

reply

I've never seen anything special in him.

reply

You’ve never seen “About a Boy”. Great film.

reply

shows up on time, doesn't do drugs, remembers his lines?

reply

He is not expensive: The total estimated annual income of Nicholas Hoult is approximately $173.8K – 237.6K across all possible revenue streams.

He has an estimated net-worth of $8 million, a lot of A-listers make more than that in one movie.

reply

I thought he was good in Skins. After that, I haven't seen anything I've liked, but I haven't seen much of them to be fair.

reply

Because he's a very good actor. And has no ego about playing small roles. A genuine character actor.

reply

It's his weird eyebrows.
