This whole series is about the Bene Gesserit, not Paul, not the Sardaukar. It’s a series about the eugenic breeding plan and prophecy set into action by the space nuns.
What were you expecting? I knew this before tuning in. It’s a backstory to the films which all centered on your boy Paul.

10,000 years??? Are these Earth years because that is a lot of time. If their year is a measured in smaller units then maybe that explains it.

To stop the eugenics plans the bene gesserit had planned. He was engaged to the princess.. and their kids would have the prophecized DNA to continue the “line for centuries”. I guess this about breeding people until they get their perfected DNA messiah, the kwitsatz hadderach.
It gives them a credibility problem and let’s the character around him dismiss his story too easily.
