shareWhat goes through through these people's heads? He was given a warning but apparently it didn't take. Even if it was something innocent, keep it professional already! You can't even look at a woman today without being accused of something.
shareI don't want to play down ANY sexual harassment/assault, but firstly, it's really unlikely that a 83-year-old would have the physical power to do anything really threatening, intimidating or scary, and secondly, I can't help thinking how sad it is to see elderly actors, like Abraham, who don't have many years left, being effectively erased during those last few years of their otherwise distinguished careers.
Maybe we still have a few years until 'woke' Hollywood finally gets to grip with another form of systemic discrimination: ageism. Then again, since most people on social media are Millennial and Gen Z brats, perhaps ageism isn't one of those 'hip' and 'trendy' forms of systemic BIGOTRY. 😠👊🏿👊🏼

I've been touched on the nipples, my ass, my knee, been sexually assaulted and on one occasion nearly raped (in all of them, BUT the latter, by women/girls), and I NEVER cancelled/tried to cancel ANY OF THEM. Some of those experiences were humiliating and upsetting, but I just tried to get on with my life without destroying other people's (some of whom were themselves quite vulnerable and fragile individuals). Unfortunately, entitlement and self-righteousness ("*I've* been 'violated'! Precious *Me*!") is very strong among certain (very privileged and pampered) circles...
Cue "You're a misogynist" finger-wagging, DESPITE the fact that I already made it fucking clear that *I'VE* been abused/assaulted (but had the decency NOT to ruin someone else's life over it). 😠🤦♂️
I haven't seen that series, but from I just read, he plays a character who is a notorious and unapologetic flirt and an anti meetoo guy.
Abraham probably was joking in character.
If so, he should be totally erased. We can't have joking and flirting in a civilized society.
They didn't say what he said or did, but I have to wonder how bad his comments or actions were. There was a guy in our shop who got reprimanded many years ago for passing some colleagues in the hall and saying "good morning girls" They almost fired him!
shareThe world's gone mad.
sharelol, he was just on a podcast saying how you can tell jokes anymore
shareYeah I'm not buying this metoo BS no more
shareI thought I'd heard this story before, and then I realised it was actually another acclaimed bald actor born in the late 30s, with a stage/theater background, of Italian-American ancestry, and usually typecast as machiavellian types, who'd been similarly cancelled for 'sexual misconduct': https://moviechat.org/nm0001449/Frank-Langella/62577a45f031d42cde0f7cd7/Canceled
The way Hollywood is going right now, certain projects are going to have to be cancelled entirely. There's only so many F Murray Abraham/Frank Langella types you can get through, before you run out of options.
I know we shouldn't tolerate shitty behaviour, but acting talent doesn't grow on trees, and I've been mistreated and abused in my life, and felt compelled to bite my tongue for the *greater good*. Unfortunately, there are a lot of spoiled, precious and entitled people today, who believe *their* feelings take precedence over everything. GROW THE FUCK UP, SPOILED CHILDREN. You are NOT a precious little snowflake.
