Pacino's last decent movie?
Insomnia
shareHe did a decent job in the Hunters TV series last year.
shareActually thought he was pretty good in the Gucci movie
sharePacino makes every movie he's in decent... well except Jack & Jill.
I think maybe The Irishman could be considered 'decent'.
I didn't like House Of Gucci... he did his best with what was given to him, but Lady Gaga and Jared Leto weren't good and Ridley was on auto-mode (again).
I enjoyed Jack & Jill because he made light of himself.
shareI love Jack & Jill. I have a sister who is exactly like Jill.
shareI thought House of Gucci was good enough to be considered decent, he was good in The Irishman as well but far too old to be playing Hoffa.
His King Lear will certainly be entertaining.
they were all too old for the irishman. i wasn't that impressed with it. i haven't seen house of gucci. the movie panned so badly.
shareCome back you bastard.
sharemost of his roles of the last 20 years or so are over the top parodies of othet Al Pacino characters, particularly when he is the lead. He still can do a decent supporting characters, but he's lost his edge. I'd almost say Insomnia too.
shareSo right. He just plays Pacino. The Irishman was a great movie but leads were miscast. Pacino as Hoffa is really a stretch. Especially when he copies himself and the over the top yelling. All the time. But Pacino in Dog Day Afternoon, Panic in Needle Park. Michael Corleone. Glengarry Glen Ross is the finest. There’s nothing like it. Insomnia was a good movie but the Stellan Skarsgard movie is so much better. The original is always better. I wish I could see the original of Scent of a Woman but I can’t get it anywhere.
