Weird things you like.
I've been trying to make my diet 50% plant based. I'm kind of weirded out that I really like mushroom based Jerky. It's good!

shareI like turtles
Signed, million man.
:)
shareI saw 16 turtles today, (after chasing a 4-year-old I was baby-sitting at a playground, who ran down to see them at a large pond.) There was a lone snapping turtle. I'd never seen one before. We tried to feed plants to the turtles. They liked small pieces from an apple better, when fish did not grab them first.
shareTurtles & Tortoises are some of the very few reptiles that I like.
shareI love turtles. Penguins too.
shareThat’s cute.
Why are you so cute?
Tell me you love ducks and I’m in love Lady😘
Not as cute as this little duck! I want one too!😭

I love a heavy rain while I’m listening to music in my garage, drinking with my dog. I’m usually beer or rum, she only gets water.
shareRain makes my day. Thunderstorms, just as long as my power doesn't go out. The more rain, the better. The more snow, the better. I don't mind shoveling.
shareOh man, I hate snow!
I drive a lot and the white stuff doesn’t help.
We live out in the woods, lose power a couple times a year when the big limbs come down. We bought a Generac 9200 Watt Gennie a few years ago, it’s a bit loud but it serves us well. It’s out back in my little barn so it’s not too obnoxiously noisy and the gas fumes stay away.
You can run the TV, heat, a few lamps and the music. It can’t handle the laundry or dishwasher but that stuff can wait👍
I paid about $900, this machine is a real Marine!
I like rolling up bits of paper and used lens wipe packets.
All started as a teen when I was obsessed with smoking and I used to roll up my bus tickets and pretend it was a cigarette, I got over the smoking phase part of it but I always found the rolling up paper part of it satisfying and seeing how tight I can roll it.
I also like the taste of playdoh.
interesting....
shareI pinch both ends of the "tube", and pull on the outer layer to roll up the paper real tight! :D
shareDid you know there are art or craft forms based on rolling paper?
There's plain old paper-rolling crafts like this:

And then there's "quilling", where colored rolls of paper are made into extravagant patterns.

You are not alone in liking to roll paper, in fact, you're in good company!
👍
shareThe nice thing about quilling paper, is that if you just stick a bunch of colored paper rolls together, it looks cool! You don't have to be all precise the way some people do.

the smell of a new book
share[deleted]
Do you like that new car smell?
shareSorry to cut in but NO.
Something about ‘new car smell’ makes me oddly nauseous, I think it’s the brand new carpet and seating…it smells of chemicals.
You're getting nauseous because that "smell" is comprised of up to 60 different volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Some of these are ethylbenzene, styrene, toluene, trimethylbenzene and xylene. See this article for all the details:

I like the smell of an old book.
shareYes👍
How many others have read this and what did they think?
Interesting questions.
Old book smell is fantastic
shareYes I love the old book smell too. Used book shops always smell good too.
The library in the town I grew up in had a separate room full of dusty old encyclopedias, newspapers, and vintage books. I used to love going there on the weekend and just sitting in there while reading and taking in the whole vibe.
One of my first jobs was working in the back of my university's library processing books. We got a massive donation of century old books, and for weeks I was wrapped in the toasty scent of aged wood pulp.
shareDefinitely.
