shareThere's a great scene in "INTERVIEW w/t VAMPIRE" where the OLDEST LIVING ONE tells another one (BRAD PITT) that the other vampires aren't in touch with the age that they inhabit and can therefore REFLECT NOTHING back about it.
That's pretty much the way things appear to be now, is where we also have too many people who aren't IN TOUCH with what's happening, and can only REFLECT back things that have PREVIOUSLY happened before.
I question how long they can keep this up. In 20 years, remakes will have remakes and planning another remake.
shareSince There's already been 3 versions of "A STAR is BORN" made now, we don't need to WAIT for remakes of REMAKES to be made.
Because 1) There's the JUDY GARLAND VERSION.
And 2)The other one with Kris Kristofferson and Barbra.
And 3) the newest version with LADY GAGA (who was playing the part that JUDY and BARB had in the other 2 versions).
The last film that David Lynch made (called INLAND EMPIRE) was also about making REMAKES of REMAKES because it had the following stories in it:
1. THE POLISH GYPSY FOLK TALE VERSION of the AXXON N TALE (with the RABBITS)
2. THE GERMAN FILM VERSION (called 47)
1. AMERICAN FILM VERSION (called OH HIGH in BLUE TOMORROWS)
So LYNCH was also already in TUNE with "making REMAKES of REMAKES" back when he made IE.
🐇🐇🐇
They already remake films that are only a few years old. That blows me away.
sharethey don't remake (and steal) em like they used to!
shareSome remakes are pretty solid
Rob Zombie remade Halloween and it was very good and the 2013 Josh Brolin remake of Oldboy had a possibly superior version of the famous hallway fight scene...both scenes are on youtube and well worth checking out by the way
I had an art professor ages ago, nice guy, he was into collage and his wife was a watercolorist...neither was ever happy with their work even though it was pretty damn fine work
They told me 'it's all been done.'
Maybe the film makers are just out of ideas at this point
i don't watch them
shareThe 1939 classic was itself a remake
shareWas the original a short?
