Anyone else dislike the rock band "KISS"?

I agree that they were brilliant at marketing their brand and image but if you dig deeper their songs were awful. Plus, Gene is one fcked up dude.

I don't like them that much. Some good songs. Better than Prince, though. Not saying much.

Similar in the sense both relied on a flashy image. Prince's music is mostly over rated although Kiss' music was never accused of being that.

You got the #1 KISS hater right here and I will proudly shout it (shout it, shout it out loud) from the rooftops. Terrible radio friendly "music" from a bunch of pseudo-rockers. They were too concerned with marketing to even compose a single good song. If rock is dead, they were the ones who killed it.

no, wait, that's not true. there's stuff i hate more. particularly a certain type of female singer/songwriter who sings new agey songs about her emotions with gutless, atmospheric music backing her. sarah maclachlan is the most prominent example of that.

but kiss would definitely be near the bottom of the pack for me.

I'm not a fan, but they do have some good songs and they put on a good concert.

I've never been a fan but I remember watching KISS and the Phantom of the Park on VHS when I was a kid. I have no idea why my parents let me watch that.

I was never a huge fan but they did put out some great albums! I love Kiss Alive, Destroyer and Rock N Roll Over. Creatures of the Night, Lick it Up and Animalize were also pretty tight albums in the 80! Never really listened to them after 85.

Saw Kiss live in 84. One of my favorite shows!
