I have a question
Looking at the covid19 map, things don't look good. My husband and I are still social distancing and wearing a mask. Are y'all still taking precautions?

shareYes,but I hate wearing face masks.
shareCases up and mortality rate down means "not as deadly" and is good news.
It is irritating how people have been fine with death rates from all sorts of things but suddenly care about it now. The people who are at high risk now are the same people who were at high risk during previous flues. Yes, this is worse, but where was the "don't you care that your behavior is KILLING people?" when it was just as true in years gone by. The last bad flu killed over 60,000 in the US. Which one of you non-mask wearers in 2018 killed one of those 60k with your irresponsible "normal behavior?" Wuhan Flu has taken 233k in the US and that is a lot. But when you compare that number (which is being adjusted downward by the CDC, btw) to the yearly 2.5 to 2.7 million that die every year, it gets better perspective.
People are blissfully ignorant of the dangers of life. Shining a light on any of these normally ignored death numbers scares people. Take a look at statistics of yearly deaths and how many come from what myriad causes. Staggering numbers every year. People's lack of perspective has worked against them.
I wear the mask (for the psychological benefit of others) and practice social distancing (the only valid measure). However, I recognize that this is being treated with increased gravity for political reasons. It is a new standard now. Watch how every flu season is treated from now on.
Eating out, buying from local shops, and attending movies. Doing my part to help those who are suffering from economic woes by adding my shoulder to getting the machine rolling again.
‘don't you care that your behavior is KILLING people?" when it was just as true in years gone by.’
I think the difference is that without all the measures that have been taken the death toll could be even higher.
Sure. And conversely, in 2018 the death toll could have been lower.
It is a macabre fact of life that the herd must graze within the view of the cat.
Everyone's situation is different.
I'm not afraid of dying, but don't leave the house often because of severe arthritis; it's difficult to get around. So, the "stay home" part works in my favor. I've been able to order everything I need online; no need to leave the house.
However, if I do go out, I wear a mask simply because the governor (NYS) ordered it.
The Plandemic is going according to plan...
shareYes, I wear a mask, I wash my hands a lot and I keep distance to the people that I do not know.
shareWe're still wearing masks in Arizona. I haven't seen anyone here without one in months.
