Do you guys still watch movies for an actor/ actress you love ?

Since almost the end of the 2000s people stoped watching films for actors it’s actually 2009 when the movie stars era ended.

But some of us still go to the movies to watch certain actors we love and find hot. Well at least I do once in a while for Chris Hemsworth and RDJ.

Yes I did watch MIB for Hemsworth and DoLitttle for RDJ and liked both.

I’m not gonna say they are masterpieces or underrrated but I did have a good time watching both though dolittle it is mostly a kids movie but I did like it as an adult.

Now maybe I would have skipped that if it wasn’t for RDJ I have to admit but don’t regret it watching it at all

But What about you guys do you still watch movies for some specific actors or not anymore. ?

Yes, I especially do it for directors.

Same here

Yes, especially since streaming has come along. I’ll search an actor or actress I’m interested in and try to watch everything available they have been in. I’ve done this many times but one standout was Cameron Mitchell. That man’s been in some crazy movies.

RLM

Rarely. Jack Nicholson tends to be a must watch, especially these days since he's unofficially retired, it seems. If he were to make another movie, I'd make it a point to watch, regardless of what its about.

Not at all.

For me it's Michael Keaton. He's been a favorite of mine since childhood...

Those are pretty much the reasons why I watched MIB and DoLittle as well.

Not so much film, but I do check out certain TV shows if they feature certain actors I like. The actresses I love to follow, strangely enough, all come from Mad Men. Love Christina Hendricks, Alison Brie and Elisabeth Moss. I also like to check out Jason Momoa films and TV - his work is always entertaining (and he's pretty easy on the eyes, I admit it).

No it doesn't really work for me doing it that way. Saoirse Ronan for example is one of the best young actors going around but most of the films she has been in are not very good. Reese Witherspoon started her career off with a hell of a bang and then appeared in a string of so-so films in the following decades.

Lately I was very impressed by Eliza Scanlen's acting in 'Sharp Objects' pity about the grisly story line though. And again she was great in 'Little Women' but the next thing she's in will probably be a dud.

I still do this but its genre specific. If I see a horror/sci fi movie that looks low budget or bad but theres an actor like in it I'll watch it.
