Is there anything you're kind of a snob of? (like wine, coffee, chocolate, cars, jewelry, etc)

I think a lot of people are coffee snobs these days and will only have it at a certain chain, some so snobby it's a particular cafe and a particular barrista.

I'm a bit of a snob for music. I must listen in stereo.

reply

Not really. I buy instant coffee then make wine myself at home which is do it yourself method. You can ferment wine at home within days if not hours. Chocolate i don't eat anymore i liked em kit kats, twixes and whatnots. Car is 1987 model and the shittiest car in the world which barely drives anymore. Coffee from chains such as Dunkin Donuts suck anyway. Mcdonald's coffee is a little better. Starbucks sucks hard and its very overrated. Music? Nature sounds.

Now I think about it... yeap: beer. I even looked for pubs in my city that had a good Guinness (it's fucking hard to get a good one out of Ireland).

reply

Definitely beer. I have my preferences.

reply

Are you in America? Should be at least 1 decent Irish pub in your city.

reply

My experience is that Irish Pubs out of Ireland don't have a good Guinness. They're still lovely, though.

I've found a couple of times some place with a good Guinness out of the island, and none of them were Irish Pubs. So I guess it's more about having the right owner that cares about their stout.

reply

Guinness does not travel well.

reply

Agreed... beer and whisky. Never skimp on either!

Chicago Hot Dogs

I’ve never been to Chicago but years ago there was a hot dog stand where I live that had the most amazing Chicago style hot dogs. They are long gone now and whenever I see a “Chicago Dog” offered at different places from time to time, I’m always disappointed.

reply

When I went to Chicago it was on my todo list. So on my last night I walked all around the city looking for one. I didn't find one. It was great that I got to see the bars and clubs around the river.

The next day at the airport I finally bought one. It was nice but the bun was soft. I liked lightly grilled bread, nice and warm with a little crisp. I don't think anyone does that for hotdogs.

reply

You should went to hot dougs or poochies.

Edit: forgot about wiener circle

reply

You can only get a real chicago dog from Chicago. Sorry whatever you thought you were eating wasn't chicago. And we only put yellow on our wieners, never ever ketchup.

reply

The guy that ran the place was from Chicago. He said he ordered his all beef wieners and seeded buns from the same place that he used when he ran a business in Chicago.

The dog came dressed with mustard, diced onions, sport peppers and a little relish. Some people would get a pickle spear on them too but I did not.

Sound authentic?

reply

Yup but were served with an attitude and when you thought about complaining to management you changed your mind in fear of being shot? If so then yes you totally experienced a true Chicago style hot dog.

reply

The dude’s name was Chicago Al, and you had to call him that. He was fat, bossy and had a band called Chicago Al and the back burners. Lol

reply

Lmao thats a cool band name for a chef. In all honesty I never order dogs. Italian beefs and Chicago style pizza is the way to go. 😉 im such a fat ass. Ifyou ever visit the Chi, you have get Lou Malnati’s Chicago style stuffed pizza or an Italian beef from Jay’s Beef or Al’s but only go to original location.

reply

I don't like cheap handbags or shoes.

reply

So you only have LV etc?

reply

No, I don't, but I don't particularly like anything with logos on it - or "status" anything. It doesn't have to have a designer name to be high quality bag with good styling. I love Brahmin bags and they're in the $300 - $500 range Now when it comes to shoes, I do like designer brands but that's because I like the styling and the fit - I wear a 5 1/2 and they are sometimes hard to find.

I'm not saying I've never bought less expensive shoes, because occasionally I find something really cute that I figure will go out of style by next season, so why pay a lot for it? But handbags I keep forever and it's worth it to me to spend more.
My favorite go to bag is a Brahmin that is probably 10 years old.

So, I wouldn't say I'm a snob because the name means nothing to me, but I do like good quality.

Edit - The only status bag that would do anything for me would be a Kelly Bag, but chances of me getting one of those is slim to none - LOL.

reply

No, I'm easy like Sunday morning

reply

I'm a dead bug snob. Like most people, I have a pretty sizeable collection of dead bugs pinned to cards and labeled with all sorts of scientific mumbo-jumbo, but one thing I cant stand is when people lump spiders in with other insects when obviously they are from the Class Arachnida and not Insecta. That really gets my goat!

reply

Ooh, I can't stand those ignorant types!!

reply

The nerve of some people!

reply

Food & weed 😁

reply

Are you my soulmate?!

reply

Hmmm....could be. Do you tell people you love reading books but secretly wish they made the movie version?

reply

Lol, sometimes, but I actually love reading.
