Your top 5 Stephen King films?

1. Christine
2. Sleepwalkers
3. 1408
4. Stand by me
5. Storm of the century

Personally, I think King's at his best when his films are serious in tone, as in Christine/Sleepwalkers.

In 1408 and Stand by me, there's a tongue-in-cheek approach (obviously less effective, but it worked for these two).

Storm of the century clearly works if you're in the mood for a 3-hour film.

and i wanna say that i feel like doctor sleep may become a bit of sleeper hit with me and work its way into the top on a re-watch. i didn't really like it all that much when i caught it in the theatre, but a few moments from it have really stayed with me. and because i generally like director mike flanagan's stuff so much, i have the feeling that it might become a grower.

I know I'm not in the majority, but I love Desperation!!

Another one I had forgotten about.
When I think about it, it's more deserving of my #5 spot than Storm of the Century.
