"On The Bowery" is a very good movie. I'll think of more, later.

The Saint of Fort Washington

This one's a gem. Starring Matt Dillon and Danny Glover as two homeless guys.

Murphy wasn't necessarily homeless, he was just a beggar. Winthorp did get kicked out of his house but JLC took him in. I'm kinda "meh" on that being a homeless movie.

God bless the child (1988),that movie was so sad it brought me to tears.

I was going to suggest this very same film. It doesn't get much mention because it was made-for-TV. Powerful stuff.

reply

Yes and it's very realistic with it's portrayal of homelessness.

I was just thinking about this movie. It was on Hollywood Suite recently and I hadn't seen it since it came out. I think I liked it better this time around.

Very good movie IMO. Pretty realistic look at the kids living on Hollywood blvd.

This seems very well-liked around here. I'll add it to my watch-list right now. Thanks!

I hope you enjoy it! I'm a Bill Hicks fan myself. Have you ever seen "American: The Bill Hicks Story"? Must-see for fans.

Ironweed (1987)

I heard about this movie a long time ago... One of a few movies of Jack Nicholson's I haven't seen. Added to the watchlist. Thanks!

No trouble.

Blue Jasmine is another I like but I’m not sure if you enjoy the films of Woody Allen. Very different type of homelessness in that.

I loved Annie Hall
