What's your favorite Christmas movie?
Die Hard - Bruce Willis and Alan Rickman
sharejust wanted to add a lesser known gem to this list:
Silent Night (2002) - with Linda Hamilton
True story of a woman who got German and American soldiers to sit down for Christmas dinner during WWII. Very much fictionalized for dramatic effect but still a good story.
I saw a video about this on Today I Found Out. But I actually read about it in fourth grade! I discovered that detention was the school library (the horror!), so I got in trouble everyday and it was one of the many things the librarian taught me! Ha!
But wasn't that the coolest thing? Afterwards they were forbidden from doing it again - both sides ;(
I think you're talking about the events from the below post from WWI. The event depicted in Silent Night was completely unofficial and spontaneous.
shareNever heard of Silent Night but I did see a 2005 film called Joyeux Noel about the same thing starting Diane Kruger which I thought was excellent.
shareJoyeux Noel is about an official event that took place during World War I. Silent Night is based on an event in World War II. This occurred in Elisabeth Vincken's house. Both sets of soldiers just happened to show up at the same time.
shareOne of them happened right on the front lines. Supposedly it started with a German soldier actually standing up and waving to the Allies.
I dunno. Too tired to think straight.
It's a Wonderful Life. Love it and make sure to watch it every year.

Home Alone (1990)
Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992)
How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)
A Christmas Carol (2009)
How I Met Your Mother: Symphony of Illumination (2012)
Krampus (2015)
I didn't see Krampus. Was it good? I thought it was probably just another seasonal flick being ground out to take advantage of the Christmas hype and try to profit on folks' willingness to part with their cash.
