Should marijuana be legalized in all 50 states?
I think it should, I don't like seeing people get locked up in jail just for a little bit of marijuana.
shareI think it should, I don't like seeing people get locked up in jail just for a little bit of marijuana.
shareYes.
shareWeed arrests are an embarrassment...The plain truth is that pot makes many anxious people feel relaxed and eases the pain of terminally sick people who need an assist (some of these people ARE going to die soon and the weed helps them out)...the pharma pills the horrid Medical companies push on these people are the real junk...weed is a plant and it makes people feel OK when everything is going wrong for them
True confession...I might have bumped into a bunch of dudes that ran weed from Queens and The Bronx to the upper Hudson River Valley in New York State...Good stuff, fair price, never a hint of violence...I promise you that this is true
Everybody was happy and nobody got hurt
Screw Big Pharma...Legal weed would help a lot of good people
Legalize that stuff
I agree with you all the way man!
Here’s my take:
Put 50 guys in a bar and serve whisky. Outcome?
Put 50 guys in a bar and serve weed. See what I mean?
I do see...
50 guys are drinking whisky and some guys are going to get beaten nearly to death, lots of arrests ensue and the law is a daily concern for the next few years...terrible outcome
50 guys puff some smoke...everyone agrees to order a ton of Dominos and rent 'Dude, Where's My Car?' on a streaming service...hilarity ensues👍
I'm from Canada where it's legal and the only problem I have with the legalization is something that occured on the first day. We were running out of weed and the people who needed it for medical issues were out of luck because recreational smokers were buying hordes of it. It seems a little weird when people who don't like to smoke do it because of their health, only to find people willingly do it just because they like it. It's like buying a cane and walking around with it simply as a fashion statement and then the people who do need it don't have one because it's out of stock.
shareNo weed shortages around here. Actually are over-stocked from what I hear. I think our state is poised to be a big exporter as a way to generate revenue, which I think is pretty smart.
shareWell, they shoulda known and gotten more in stock. I don't visit pot shops. I'm not going to give the government a dime, I'll always get it off the streets. So I don't know how easy that would be to get more stock, but it can't be super difficult.
shareExactly. Ask any cop what the most destructive substance is that they have to deal with on a regular basis and most will say alcohol.
shareAlcohol AND drugs are a blight on humanity.
shareOk, but these substances have been around forever, so shouldn't consenting adults be able to choose if they want to consume them, especially one with not a single medically documented death in all of medical literature?
shareYes. People absolutely should be allowed to impair themselves if they want to, as long as it doesn't hurt others. It's just sad that people want to.
Same here, but I don't think it's sad if used responsibly. Abusing anything can cause harm i.e. alcohol, food, sugar, TV, electronics, etc.
share"The standard story that the legalization lobby pushes is very rare for prison, and is not terribly common for jail."

I guess I don't really care one way or another about legalization
I can't stand the smell, but whatever.
shareI like the smell...it reminds me of good old times (it smells like girls in college and girls at Jone's Beach on summer weekends...a lovely smell;)
*I have quit the weed tbh...my Rum and Cigs are enough LOL!
I like the smell of weed, even when I wasn't indulging.
Personally, I have had a problematic history with pot. Sometimes it hit me too hard and I felt like I couldn't organize my thoughts well enough to hold a conversation, but at other times it was very relaxing and sometimes rather amusing. I quit weed for a long time, kind of related to depression. Recently picked it back up, just for hanging around the house in the evening. Stuff seems pretty mild, and I usually only take a couple hits.
But I hesitate to see kids doing it, and they are the most intrigued, I'm guessing. I doubt it's helpful when trying to build a career or increase your education.
Then your neighbors have shit weed. Good weed smells great. I can't tell what a strain is, just from the smell but I can tell good weed/bad weed from the smell.
shareSmells good to YOU. I've smelled all kinds and it stinks, to me. Just like some people hate the way cigars smell and some people like it.
I sincerely doubt that everybody in Holland has shit weed. I went to college in Amsterdam and the whole city smelled of shit. Some people say weed smells like skunk, but since I have no clue what a skunk smells like I say it smells like shit.
Maybe it's like regular smoking, smokers don't seem to notice that every single thing they own reeks of cigarette smoke.
The skunk smell comes from the terpene mycerene. Mycerene is also in hops, which gives beer its signature smell.
Lots of people don't like the smell, I get that, but I don't think its comparable to tobacco. Tobacco smoke is water soluble, so its gets into clothes, curtains carpets, etc. Cannabis is only oil soluable so it doesn't linger or penetrate nearly as bad.
Well, I meant that maybe cannabis smokers are so used to the smell they don't really notice it anymore. Like some dog owners.
Maybe it doesn't linger as long as cigarette smoke, but dang, it's so much stronger. You can still smell it when a user has passed 5 minutes earlier. No joke.
You've never smelled a skunk? I've never been around anything that got sprayed directly, but when you smell something REALLY strong for no particular reason, it's probably a skunk. But occasionally I'll smell something and I'm not sure if it's skunk or weed. But skunk is much more pungent.
shareI'm from Europe, where should I smell a skunk???
shareWhat do I know? Are there squirrels over there? Raccoons? Bear? Moose? I didn't know skunks were only indigenous to the Northern Western Hemisphere or whatever.
shareSquirrels - Yes, the North American squirrels are actually taking over and chasing away the European squirrels
Raccoon - Not native to Europe, but they have been introduced here. I've only seen them in the zoo, though.
Bear - Yes, but not in Holland
Moose - Only up north in Scandinavia, Russia, etc.
Yes
shareYeah it makes people happy.
