Simple pleasures you enjoy?

Some of mine:
A fireside cup of hot cocoa on a cold day.
Watching children playing outside.
Stretching out on the chaise lounge on a summer day. (A cold adult beverage adds to the ambiance. 😁)
Listening to a favorite song on the radio.
Discovering and reading a good book.
Looking at Christmas lights around the neighborhood.
Watching the snow fall.
A walk in the park.
Watching puppies play.
Going for a bike ride.
Window-shopping. Just looking, not buying anything.
The arrival of spring.

Pyjama days - I work 6 days a week so when I finally get a day off with nowhere to go or anyone to see I stay at home all cosy in my jamas. I love it 😊

Fucking, sneezing, foilies, the Park with my dog on a sunny day, coffee and a smoke.

reply

I have never smoked.

My simple pleasures include:

Taking a bubble bath while listening to classical music.
Getting a facial and the way it makes my face look afterwards.
Having long meaningful talks with my husband.
Taking naps with my cat on the couch with a big blanket; which is my favorite thing to do!
Watching Svengoolie on MeTv channel on Saturday nights; I love watching those B classic horror movies.
Treating myself to a fro-yo with vanilla frozen yogurt topped with strawberries, walnuts and blackberries yum!!

Taking a long, long walk anywhere.
Discovering new music after hearing one song in a random place.

I enjoy having the energy and curiosity to go through the house and get rid of stuff I don't need anymore, and occasionally finding fun stuff I'd forgotten about.
Along with the first statement, I like giving re-usable items to non-profits and such. I recently gave a tarp to a homeless agency and a decent pair of Doc Marten boots to St Vincent dePaul.

I like when my roommates aren't around and I can walk naked from my room to the bathroom when I'm going to take a shower. I don't make enough money to pay the mortgage w/o roommates, and they are really nice people, but I lived here a dozen years w/o them, so it's very different.

It must be tough to adapt to that new situation. My sympathies.

It's more good than bad. They feed me almost every night, and they are clean and quiet. Regardless of my income, they do pay the rent plus utilities every month, so that's a blessing. And it helps me keep my head on straight, having people around as opposed to being alone all the time. But I've lived alone almost my whole life, so it's a lesson in patience. Thanks for your concern.

Hot steamy shower at the end of a hard day.

2nd cup of coffee in the morning.

Fresh warm sheets right out of the dryer.

A few lucky tosses of darts fooling everybody into thinking you're actually secretly great at darts for about 30 seconds.

While I wouldn't mind showering at the end of a long hot day, I can't leave the house after sleeping w/o taking a shower. It cuts out the oil from my skin and wakes me up. It's a signal the day has begun in earnest.
