Not sure how it would work, other than simply continuing to post to one another, like here or somewhere else.
I'm usually not part of a particular circle on MC. MissMargo is the only other person I seem to understand a little bit, other than some churlish Republicans I'm better off avoiding. But if you genuinely felt lonesome here, I don't mind keeping up with whatever's on your mind. We may not have much in common, frankly, but at one time I worked in a record store that also rented Vids, and video stores were some of my favorite places until they all went away.
Speaking of Period Pieces, I have a fondness for the Emma Thompson Sense And Sensibility. Familiar? I commented or at least read much of the thread recently. People think the women are too obsessed with finding a man while others point out that was really the only way for a woman to survive in that culture. If your family wasn't rich, you had to find a man who would provide for you. I'm sure Jane Austen was smart enough to understand what she was trying to represent at the time, and the screenplay did not try to update the story.

HA! Jane Austen is kind of a hate of mine. A pet one, though, as I'm more a BrontΓ« bitch, I always thought Jane Austen's like the Iron Maiden of her time. Wrote the same album for 20 years...

Hahaha. I figured we might not have a lot in common. I'm very aware of Iron Maiden, but I can barely remember their Avatar's moniker, let alone comment on their output. Not much of a metal-head, although I did, for nostalgia reasons, buy Black Sabbath Vol. 4 recently. No regrets. My fave song off it is Supernaut.
And while I try to be a literary type, I have to admit the Bronte's and Austen aren't things I've actually visited, only picked up by "osmosis." Often I like to read About books and music more than I want to actually read and listen to them (although I do plenty of both, just not high-volume).
Iron Maiden ... heheheh.

Yeah, I'm all over the map when it comes to music, except the more current it is the less likely I'm familiar with it.
But as far as Thriller's go, I stumbled on a movie called Don't Breathe. Definitely derivative of Silence Of The Lambs, but very effective with a no-name cast. That it's set in Detroit (my home area) slightly adds to the attraction, except they all want to leave, iirc. Also reminiscent of Panic Room.

Sometimes I miss 80-90's thrillers, as they don't really make them like that anymore.
