The biggest movie event of your life

The hype of a movie and people still discuss about it

The force awakens
The last jedi
Avengers : infinity war

reply

I thought you didn't like superhero movies.

reply

The Exorcist
Saving Private Ryan

reply

Ooohhhh! Forgot about The Exorcist.
That was a pretty huge event, as I recall. I went in with my heart beating! I came out the same way!

reply

I was 10 years old when I snuck into the theater with my older brother to see The Exorcist. I remember thinking Wow this is great.

reply

!!!!10???? Whoa! And you weren't scarred for life?

reply

So that explains it.

reply

Kind of bummed out, but I don't think I have one.

reply

My mouth dropped wide open when I received a VHS copy of Space Jam for my 8th birthday, also provided with a promotional movie coin embedded with the Looney Tune characters and Michael Jordan, which I have both to this day, one of the few tapes I still hold in my collection.

It hurt later knowing that Mr. Jordan is not a person I would want to meet in real life; makes fun of other players, including his own team mates, a spiteful individual even after his professional career is over, making bad draft pick choices for his Charlotte Hornets team as to make large short-term money deals, and regularly cuts people off during interviews. Still, all of this does not diminish my enjoyment of the movie, even if it's no cinematic masterpiece.

reply

I wasn't born when it came out but Halloween (1978) is a movie that people still rave about.

reply

no ones mentioned Aliens!
16 years after the original , and the hype made it look awesome , and it was!
Too bad I first saw it on a pirated vhs tape

reply

I can only imagine, the quality was bad eh?

reply

oh yeah , it was the first time I'd seen that protection system they put on vhs's called macrovision - it phased in and out of "unwatchable"

reply

Well,now it's the "mkv" era,you don't have the same problem anymore👍

reply

Didn't it come out in 86? That would be 7 years. But you are correct, it was awesome.

reply

so it was! dunno where i pulled that 16 figure from lol

reply

For me it was when the original Jurassic Park hit theatres. We waited in line for hours. That and the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. (I bet PeteRose is with me on that one)

reply

Not that animated movie,I suppose

reply

Hell no... The one with Cory Feldman as Donatello. But when people would wait in line for movie tickets.

reply

That reminds of the old times when people used to stay in line for food

Comunism flash - backs

reply

reply

reply
