Does it bother you when weed is made legal?

I live in Kansas close to Kansas City and Missouri now has fully legal weed for medical and recreational use. It kind of bothers me seeing states go this way as it's as if the Goverment wants its citizens to be as dumb and sedidated as possible. Does anyone else feel this way?

reply

Nope. Most if not all of New England is now legal rec & med, some states for many years. The sky has not fallen.

reply

New Hampshire is obligated to have it legal based on their state motto.

reply

It does not bother me because I believe in individual liberty.

reply

I'm generally in favor of legalization, albeit with very mixed feelings as far as the "normalization" of it in popular culture, etc. I really don't see it as being any more.....or less harmful potentially than any other drug, i.e.- alcohol, tobacco etc, etc depending on the individual & how it's used.

As to personal experience, I was a regular user from my early teens through my 30's, but started slowing down in my 40's, & then quit entirely just before I turned 50 (over 10 years ago) & haven't smoked it since.😎

reply

I totally agree with you. Wait until you smell it everywhere. Second-hand smoke everywhere. And children begin getting high before school starts in the morning. Teachers have begun to complain. Legalization increases the number of people using it, too.

Government is only looking for more tax revenue. They don't care about its dangerous effects.

🤣

I think smelling weed second hand is not nearly as harmful (if at all harmful) as cigarettes which contain all the unnatural chemicals (incl. the big one, nicotine). Flower is just flower from the earth, no added chemicals. Of course whenever you burn something you're taking in carcinogens but I wouldn't be surprised if second hand weed smoke was equivalent to or less than the "harmful" effects of burning a candle. I've known women who won't allow a lit candle around when pregnant, unless it's from a clean source such as soy wax.

"not nearly as harmful"
It's harmful. You smoke weed around young children?

"Secondhand marijuana smoke contains many of the same cancer-causing substances and toxic chemicals as secondhand tobacco smoke. Some of the known carcinogens or toxins present in marijuana smoke include: acetaldehyde, ammonia arsenic, benzene, cadmium, chromium, formaldehyde, hydrogen cyanide, isoprene, lead, mercury, nickel, and quinoline.i
Marijuana smoke contains tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the active chemical in cannabis."

" Study Shows Toxins in Marijuana Smoke
Ammonia levels were up to 20 times higher in marijuana smoke than in tobacco smoke. Levels of hydrogen cyanide and nitrogen-related chemicals were three to five times higher in marijuana smoke than in tobacco smoke."

"Smoke is harmful to lung health. Whether from burning wood, tobacco or marijuana, toxins and carcinogens are released from the combustion of materials. Smoke from marijuana combustion has been shown to contain many of the same toxins, irritants and carcinogens as tobacco smoke.
Secondhand marijuana smoke contains many of the same toxins and carcinogens found in directly-inhaled marijuana smoke, in similar amounts if not more. While there is no data on the health consequences of breathing secondhand marijuana smoke, there is concern that it could cause harmful health effects, especially among vulnerable children in the home.
Research shows that smoking marijuana causes chronic bronchitis and marijuana smoke has been shown to injure the cell linings of the large airways, which could explain why smoking marijuana leads to symptoms such as chronic cough, phlegm production, wheeze and acute bronchitis."

What about edibles?

reply

Only if their BO doesn't smell like marijuana.

reply

Ha!

reply

Literally none of that will happen.

reply

Yes, it's happening now. The irony is that I'd rather smell cigarette smoke which is less pungent. And I've always hated cigarette smoke!

reply

The irony is you sound just like a republican. Your views on this are very archaic. And there is no such thing as too much weed. Please educate yourself before you spout more nonsense. Your statement that weed causes BO is BS.

Signed, million man.

reply

You're in denial if you don't know that weed smell is in your clothes, hair, breathe and body odor. It's worse than tobacco smoke since weed is more pungent.

You're the one who has diminished memory and IQ from smoking.

reply

Nope. Not in denial. I live it. Yeah it smells for a little bit, but it only lasts a short while. Tobacco smoke sticks around way longer. Once again you prove you don't know what you are saying. Also my memory is way better than my wife's who doesn't smoke.

Signed, million man.

With as tight as the medical community has gotten with pain medications I think cannabis should be available to patients that can make use of it. Decriminalize for others.
