Governors enact lockdowns, the president technically cannot do this.

Donald Trump spoke against the lockdowns because he said he was bad for the economy; which he was right about that. He never wanted the lockdowns in the first place. Plus the lockdowns were a government decision. The government of each individual state made this decision not Trump.

It's videos like this that make me angry >:( It's one reason this entire lockdown sounds like a farce, because apparently the virus can differentiate between the rich and powerful, and the rest of us. It also seems to be able to tell time and not infect people between 10 pm and 5 am.

I mean, this was discussed on another thread, how Gov. Brillcream got to go to the French Laundry in Napa, sit close to other high-level elites with no mask on, and happily dine like nothing was wrong. Even worse, two representatives of the California Medical Association were there, doing the same thing! Or he includes the film industry as "essential" among the services allowed to stay open. Uh-huh, sure. Like movies are gonna pay the bills of people who watch them and put food on their tables.

Let's not forget Nancy Piglosi going to get her hair done, without a mask, at a salon in SF, when most of the salons had been forced to shut down. And what kind of treatment does she get? Something you could easily do at home! What kind of a lazy, selfish, entitled asshole, requires a salon to break her own rules, just so she can have someone subservient to her rinse her hair and blow it out?

Or how about Lori Lightfoot? The brilliant mayor of Shitcongo, one of the deadliest cities in America to live in; deciding she can't go without her roots being done, despite telling everyone else in her city that getting their hair done is "non-essential."

The hypocrisy is disgusting!

I cannot begin to tell you how irate I was after watching your link! I also felt pain and fear of what is to come if this nonsense doesn’t cease! Tears welled in my eyes watching the owner describe, with breaking voice what is happening to her. When we look at her think of the thousands who are facing the same circumstances. This is occurring in our country?

If I didn’t know better I would believe this was happening in a communist country...er, on second thought...aren’t we close to losing our Republic and turning into a country akin to China? Closing businesses, closing places of worship, closing schools, confining people to their homes which leads to isolation and domestic abuse, then arresting people who don’t toe the government’s arbitrary rules!

But, abortion centers stay open because they are a necessity...akin to China...sigh

Wouldn’t you be saying the "virus isn't a big deal“ if you got it with only a fever for a symptom? Followed by being quarantined with family members who didn’t get it? I’ve seen whole family members in a house come down with the flu. One member gets it then it spreads through the whole house.

The election isn't over yet and the convenient covid spike is keeping the people blind to what's going on.

When I visited my friend in November I was exposed to her grandson who had come down with Covid. I had hugged him. I didn’t get Covid, my friend didn’t get Covid, neither did his sister and parents who were quarantined with him for 14 days! These lockdowns are a bunch of hooey! The country is going to crash...ripe for a takeover!

My form of defiance is subtle. I refuse to get a permanent mask like a lot of people have. I only wear a paper medical mask in public because they won't let me into the grocery stories (or any store, really) without one, and I don't want to get in trouble. I wear masks as little as possible otherwise. I refuse to wear one in the car if I'm alone or riding with a family member. I don't put one on until we get to our destination. The moment we get back to the car, once we're done with our business, I take it off. You won't catch me wearing one if I'm walking the dog either. Our neighborhood is very widely spaced out, so it's easy to social distance there, and so far, no cop has shown up to stop me. It's okay if strangers pet my dog. Animals are immune to this virus, and he's a nice dog that loves everyone :).

(Yes, I heard about the poor minks in the Netherlands, but Domino is not a mink).
