You don't ever give up your freedom just to "feel safe", that's not how it works.
As Benjamin Franklin said, "he who sacrifices freedom for security deserves neither." I'm funny how? In what way? You think you got it tough! I got a facelift! There was one just like it underneath! It seemed like he was sort serving as Richie's aide-de-camp, if you will, at the meeting with Tony and Dick Barone re: the garbage collection and heroin drops and when Richie was meeting with Junior. Then in season 3, he was more of a poser as you say. The biggest retcon was the retconning of his very existence--he's not at his own "fawtha"'s funeral in season 1! I stand corrected! His mother was indeed Sicilian-American! I wonder what Tony and co. would have thought of him once he became governor of the Garden State. Chris Christie isn't Italian. Assuming Tony either gets popped or goes to the can and Sil never wakes up, Patsy will likely be the new boss, with Paulie as street boss while also doubling as capo of the Aprile/Cifaretto crew. Albert Barese is presumably still capo of that crew and Benny, Walden, and the guy we see tagging along with Bobby towards the end of the show are all probably the new capos. And at the end of the first episode, when Victor is telling Oz how he couldn't decapitate Alberto Falcone properly, it's sunny! Here here. He made one or two movies between Cape Fear and This Boy's Life. Also, "The coppers blamed me for everything that went on out here, and I mean every little fuckin' thing. If a fuckin' guy tripped over a fuckin' banana peel, they'd question me about it!" "God forbid they should make a mistake or forget to steal!" It wouldn't have been the same because one of the themes of the Riggs/Murtaugh partnership dynamic is that Murtaugh is older and wiser than Riggs. Having Riggs be closer to Murtaugh's age or older would have made it a different movie. Aammmmoooooonnnnnnnnn............ ...............Did you execute another Jew today? Right?! Drooch, I completely agree with your feelings about this film 100%. It's actually one of the few movies that I would NOT mind seeing a remake of, because I strongly feel that it could have, and should have, been done better. To your point about Levinson seemingly trying to emulate Scorsese's style on Goodfellas, Sleepers was shot by cinematographer Michael Ballhaus and the assistant director was Joe Reidy, both of whom worked on Goodfellas. I can't help but wonder if Levinson hired them for that reason specifically and said "I want you guys to do what you did on Goodfellas in terms of the style." Can you imagine Alan running into Sheldon?! They bought the house because it was for sale. Did you miss the scene with Alice wearing a blonde wig and doing a Southern accent saying "my boys are going to love it here"?
Maher helped create the Frankenstein far left.
In what way?
