I think I was thinking of Campbell instead of Matakovich. Campbell was not my favorite and thought he had a bit of an attitude.
I also wasn't a fan of Jason Lando. He was the one who dealt with both a mother and her daughter who was a prostitute. He gave the mother an attitude because she wasn't totally honest at first about her daughter's problems. His partner, on the other hand, Antoine Cain, seemed very nice and polite.
What episodes was Brian Nicholas in again?
Matakovich was not my favorite but not my least favorite either if I remember correctly.
Moody does appear in the intro, but the other officer with him didn't appear in any segments that I can remember.
Regarding Tony Moreno from Pittsburgh, who we also discussed on this thread, he managed to get the Republican nomination in the mayoral race, but lost big time, much to no one's surprise. It seems like many people said he had no clue what he was doing and considered his campaign a joke.
I always wonder if the one suspect who Moreno was aggressive towards over him discarding drugs thought he was a man impersonating a cop?
I wondered the same thing about Joe Frentess in the one segment myself. Saw it again a few nights ago. I noticed he accused the driver of having an attitude when he told him to calm down as if he didn't like being criticized.
Moody is a decent cop but seemed a little too belligerent in that segment. I heard him saying that they've been to that bar numerous times. I wasn't sure if it was Moody or his partner who was the jerk in the segment, but there's been a few other segments where Moody can be funny.
I watched an episode from season 14 in Des Moines yesterday. It had Mike Moody and his partner in it. It was the one where they were called to a bar over a fight. One of the officers got really rude and aggressive toward the one woman who simply asked a question and threatened her with arrest a few times before leaving. Even my mom called him macho and said he threw his weight around.
Agreed on this. I did like the cop in this episode as he was very calm in the segment.
Randy and Tom both were good officers.
I'm happy Tom is still alive as he said in a video earlier this year that where he said he was hospitalized for COVID after not getting the vaccine due to his belief the pandemic was over. He said he was going to get it as soon as he felt better. I hope he did. He said getting the virus was the worst feeling he ever had.
I have noticed that in the earlier and middle seasons of COPS, the officers used to be a lot more likable compared to the later seasons, where there seem to be slightly more cops with attitudes. I don't know if it's the fact the officers don't appear in more than one segment anymore or not. We could at least tell the personalities of the officers if they were in multiple segments like Morgan and Ryan Cook, who were both likable. I think Jeff Lower was a jerk in every one of his season 16 segments. He seemed to be mean in every one of them.
I saw two of Joe Morgan's segments last night (the tire iron and fraudulent check). The guy was definitely different than most other officers featured on the show. Kind of sad when I heard he passed in September 2020 at the young age of 54. Even the sound man for COPS who wrote along said that it was very shocking, and he actually talked with him a few months before his passing. Just shows that life isn't always fair. His death seemed to be a huge loss for the whole Des Moines Police Department.
The Passaic County episode did indeed have a Honda Civic.
That car/taxi collision was probably one of the better segments of Season 20.
I think the one season 14 episode in Fort Worth that started and stopped and started up again was one of the craziest ones I ever saw. The season 15 one with the two black men in North Las Vegas who drove off after being sprayed, and the one that ended in Norwood, Ohio from season 17 that ended at a school, and the season 16 with the Teenagers/young adults in Passic County in broad daylight are my honorable mentions.
Season 27 was when got into watching COPS. Lots of action and drama.
I haven't seen any full episodes since I don't subscribe to Fox Nation, but clips I've seen suggest it's similar to the Spike/Paramount Network years.
That segment with Lower with the addict on probation was my least favorite segment of his. He was a jerk the entire segment, but I mentioned it before.
I've seen the same segment and I don't like him but don't dislike him either. He's probably in the same league as Patrick Burke in Las Vegas. Howard seemed a bit aggressive as he was very concerned they were going to discard the drugs. I felt bad for both suspects. I think he did calm down, although he sternly but respectfully they had no choice but to go to jail.
I remember at the end, he showed the neighborhood the confiscated crack and they cheered when they saw it.
I think Season 16 Jeff Lower would be worse. Just seemed very cold to every suspect he dealt with.
Currently, there's only COPS Reloaded airing on Reelz. There are no segments prior to season 17 that I've seen.
They did air the late 90's and early 2000's episodes until last year.
Reloaded.
I miss the days of the show on Spike/Paramount Network and WGN America/Newsnation.
Lately, Reelz airs the COPS Reloaded spinoff. It's shortened segments from the later years on FOX.
