Sorry getting and noticing the director and a writer died within past couple years.

Not much was discussed about the OP's third point. How do they force a realism into that environment? My initial thinking agrees the Brits better acquiesce. But other points have been made, their lives were in peril either the turn of events (using up the last beam for firewood signified no safety concern). The parents guide has a poll and half of votes put License to Kill as severe on violence/gore. Two-thirds vote put Casino Royale as moderate. A very small margin, but still majority say License to Kill.
Profanity and frightening/intense scenes rated the same. Casino Royale has mild drug use, while License to mild sexual content.
