I thought he was pretty decent as Elvis
Couldn't agree more.
It's a shame, Baz just missed the mark on this one.
you're arguing with yourself, the point you made in no way counters what the person you are responding to said.
It was 10x better in Catch me if you can than this.
That was supposed to be a dutch accent? I had no clue what he was going for. That accent might have been the worst part of the movie.
I wasn't sure on the casting at first, but after watching he was fine.
Also, it's 2022, don't insult people by calling them gay..
I don't think high schoolers call people gay anymore, 2002? Definitely, today? Not so much.
I'd love to see a good Elvis movie, but you are right in all your criticisms.
Definitely a poor casting choice, or at minimum a poor accent choice. It was awful, distracting, and a pretty big detraction from the movie.
Much better comparison, Bohemian was an incredible movie. Elvis is worse than Rocketman.
Agree, I don't think the first 30 needs thrown out, but it needs a pretty serious rework
Exaggerate much?
According to?
"It doesn't have to be brilliant, it just has to be entertaining."
That's exactly right. So many people critiquing dumb action movies like they trying to be cinematic masterpieces. They aren't. This was not a incredible movie, but it was entertaining enough to be somewhat enjoyable. Granted, it had more flaws than many, but I let flaws go in tons of movies so they can be more enjoyable.
I also think about my 10 year old son who liked it, he's not busy analyzing plot holes, he's enjoying the movie for what it is.
It had more potential but yeah, it was really generic.
If it does get made you know you don't have to watch it, right?
The CGI really wasn't bad.
Definitely seems that way. The quality is definitely lower too, but still.
because?
