If I were a young upcoming American actor, I would be demoralized and demotivated be the current trend. Batman is an American, as James Bond is British. The Brits would never cast an American as Bond, so why are the Americans casting a British man as Batman?!! I think I already know the answer though: the apparent realization that there is no real home grown talent in Hollywood. It now has to be imported!! The last resort would be an Australian, but definitely not an American. Wow! you actually made it to the end. It was pure torture for me and I think I saw a third of the film. 40 minutes of my precious time wasted! Part of the reason why Daniel Day Lewis is considered a great actor is the scarcity of his on-screen performances; about 21 films, not counting a few TV appearances before his big break of Room with a View. His acting career started in earnest in 1981, the same year Sam Jackson's career started in earnest. Mr Jackson has logged over 150 big screen performances, and with such on-screen ubiquity, people kinda get tired of seeing your face and what appears to be the same performance over and over. It not that the guy cannot act (A Time to Kill, Jackie Brown); it's more of the fact that a great performance doesn't seem to be his goal. His aspirations seem to be with Guinness, not Oscar. @EvilPinata ALL people suck sometimes, regardless of their background or heritage. Thank you so much for this information. Very sloppy editing when they just remove a key character from the narrative with no explanation whatsoever. I was extremely skeptical going into this experience, especially after the "overhyped black panther" let down (my opinion). But I gotta say this film delivered the hyped goods. It is simply very good. Moreover, I don't think people who don't like this film are necessarily racist; they could just be super hard core marvel fans who just don't like the idea of there being more than one Spiderman. she was on fire in The Counselor. Damn! Some here think the detectives killed the pedophile janitor they abducted and tortured. Not true. They let him go and told him to never come back. He finds Julie, and the head of security find him. Why would he commit suicide when he had basically solved the mystery of his missing daughter. I think it boils down to the writing. The writer(s)behind Dorff's character killed it with his lines, turning what would have been a good performance into a very good one. No one has responded to this question because it is somewhat lame. Why would a girl who escaped and was subsequently caught be in an audience comprising of "free" people?! Also, don't you think there would have been some sort of interaction between her and the doctor if she was in the audience? And if she was in the audience, how did she end-up back in the basement of the asylum, being tortured when Nicola found her???? I now feel stupid for actually going back to check the court room scene you mentioned and I feel even stupider for responding to such a dumb question! I agree. Her acting is nothing spectacular (from what I've seen so far). She's becoming more and more famous for her sexual orientation than her acting skills. Maybe I'll change my mind about her acting if I watch Juno. Strong memories of his daughter played a role in why he was reluctant to kill the girl. I thought that was made pretty clear in the film, and it was also made clear in the first film as well. Well put, but I beg to differ on a few points. Here’s an analogy: a CEO of a Fortune 500 company that produces beef happens to be a vegan. Would you call her disingenuous because she doesn’t believe in the product her company produces? No one said the woman was (is) an angel, and neither did she claim to be one. What I said was, “she was the most genuine” of them all. Everyone else was simply drunk on Osho’s teachings, while she never waivered from her original objective, which was to help Osho bring his dream to reality (at any cost). Again, she made it clear that she was not a meditator, which meant she was not one of Osho’s pious (blind) followers. It´s perfectly normal for accents and mannerisms to change when one moves to a foreign country. Her character emigrated from Luxembourg, so naturally her accent is going to be somewhat diluted, especially between her work and personal life, and especially coming from a country which has 2 native languages. Whoa! And there I was thinking this is platform for civil discourse. Silly me...you win! Sorry, Joe, but I'm going to have to echo the comments of the original post. Even when there is a show that is half-way decent on US TV, you'll find the main cast members being British: GOTS, The Wire, House MD, just to name a few. OMG!!! i thought I was the only one....She is gorgeous and the main reason I watched the show!! And her real name, HONEYSUCKLE, is sooooo befitting!!
