I love dark humor, and everyone is open to get roasted in my book….but that shouldn’t suggest that there is a malicious intent involved. Personally, I simply form an opinion on who the good guys are, and who bad guys are. The guy that only helps the rich simply doesn’t work in my interests- simple. Does he help the poor, or middle class? Maybe by accident in small districts, but it wasn’t the intent. His intent was to financially help wealthy people that will never devote any time in these forums. I simply don’t get the “strong figure” opinion of Trump, because he doesn’t have the resume to back it up. He’s simply an entertainer that acts that way, but his actual resume is a mountain of failure. Just a rich kid with a silver spoon that squanderd everything he inherited….and like a pop star, tried to make his name a brand. Why would anyone kill John Lennon? Because some people are fucking crazy! I don’t see it like a Republican killing another Republican figure, I see it like a crazy person attempting to kill a popular figure. I can understand why people want to throw politics into the equation, but sometimes, people are just fucking nuts…and they’re not always illegal aliens. Trump definitely knew the crowd to inspire for votes. Hmmm, my instincts would normally agree with you. Trump is certainly a grifter, but that shot was too close for comfort to make me think he’d agree to getting shot that close to death. IMO, it was just some dumb kid that wanted to make a martyr out of Trump. Hmmm…it might be a small detail in a future history book, but the moment hasn’t been completely defined yet. Why did a 20-Year Old registered Republican try to kill Trump? IMO, there’s still more story to this. I think the end of the story will determine how meaningfully people will remember it. Like, what kind of fallout is this event going to create? Hmmm…it appears the facts do not agree with your belief. I hate that this happened, because I think we’re about to see a lot of ugly fallout from a 20-Year Old kid’s misguided attempt to make a martyr out of Trump. They’re too rich and spoiled to examine the details of their actions. Jr forgot about his post 2 minutes after he posted it. I think he got roughed up/ knocked around more in the tunnels than she did, which gave him a much dirtier look. Just caught this on Tubi, and thought it was a really satisfying watch…even though I might not have completely understood all of the details. The way I absorbed it is that both were abducted as he was attacking her. It didn’t even occur to me that there was an alien element to it until she bumped into her attacker in the tunnels as well. I think that she may have been fatally wounded in the attack, but was still alive when they were abducted. There was an alien in the tunnels that would heal her when she got wounded, but the interesting detail about that alien is that it produced a needle when she was about to give up, and then simply healed her when she changed her mind. I suppose it’s possible that she was in an emergency room while she was imaging the whole scenario, but I personally think it was an abduction with a scenario created by the aliens. I think it was the aliens testing her will to live. Yeah, I’m in the USA. Apparently, it’s also available on Amazon Prime here too, but I didn’t know that before I committed to watching it on Tubi. Just caught this on Tubi, and agree that the 1997 original is much better. It was cool to check this out, but the character interactions, solutions, and traps simply felt more organic and engrossing in the original. Glad I caught it on Tubi before committing to a blind buy on bluray. I can’t help myself when it comes to Alien movies, so I’ll probably catch this at the theater, but I have liked the director’s other movies, so I do have a little faith that it can be at the very least entertaining. There are some really attractive physical releases for blu rays and 4Ks out there, but you typically have to jump online to even be aware of most of it. With the limited selection that’s even available in stores like Target, Walmart, FYE, and previously Best Buy, I stopped bothering to look for physical movies in those places; and have long gone online to buy what I wanted. IMO, it’s actually a great time to be a movie collector, since so many new and classic movies are still consistently getting great releases on blu ray/4K. It’s just that it’s a ton easier to purchase those releases online. I’d suggest checking out Blu-Ray.com. There’s practically daily news there on new releases (and where and how to get them); a vast database of what’s available on physical platforms; awareness when certain releases go on sale; and a huge forum of tens of thousands of members just shooting the shit informatively and fanatically about movies of all eras. Hehe…when did the word “chicanery” become popular again? I’ve been hearing that word used comedically for decades, so it’s hard for me to take anyone seriously when they use it. Nancy had an opinion once, and it didn’t change who the president was. Just like Jowilli had an opinion once, and it didn’t change who the president was. You can hate it, but it is what it is. Trump was President, and then he lost a chance at a 2nd term (just like Bush)….and now he’s running for another term to deflect attention from the deep shit legal problems he’s in. But why would Trump be “afraid” that Republican votes would be “lost or misplaced”? - Because he fucking lost, and knew that he would. Reagan and Bush Jr. spent 8 years in office without such fears. In fact, Trump is the only president in the history of this country that’s been “afraid” (or self-interested) enough to bitch about it enough to try to keep himself out of jail. Truly embarrassing shit. Is this really still a thing? Trump told his fan base to vote in person - so they did- with the knowledge that they would count the mail-in votes afterwards. The mail-in votes that were being counted were being counted in the middle of the night. That’s the way it has always been done - it wasn’t any different in 2016. Trump knew this, so he declared a win before he won it….because he had already been talking for years that if he didn’t win it, it was stolen, and he had already indoctrinated enough people into believing it. Trump is like that kid that’s been caught dead to rights in a lie, but will ALWAYS deny it. He’s like the most obvious liar. Of course, this movie can be both things at once, but I don’t think it sucks because it’s woke. It just simply sucks. Like, being “woke” didn’t make it suck. Simply saying “The Movie Sucks!!!” is sufficient. IMO, new Star Wars simply sucks. They could replace every “woke” character with a “traditional” character, and it’ll still suck. Inclusion never bothered me. What bothers me is shitty writing. IMO, I always hate the opinion of “utter woke garbage”. If material sucks, it just simply sucks! It doesn’t matter if all the boxes were checked. Just give me a good story with good characters! I’ve seen great movies/series with all kind of characters! IMO, the Netflix series of One Piece was a fun and engaging series that “checked all the the boxes” without even thinking about it. For me, it was simply fun and engaging. I just want an entertaining journey not unlike something like The Goonies, but to say “it’s woke shit” come across so lazy and simplified. How about “it just sucks”? Trump appointed judges that he thought would benefit his interests…without realizing that he also appointed judges that also play by the book. Yeah, those judges are republicans, but they aren’t criminals in the audacious manner that Trump wants to go about it. It just blows my mind how MAGA Republicans are aching for the tiniest bit of evidence to impeach Biden while Trump is neck deep in treasonous evidence. I simply don’t get it. Trump is done, dead to rights. Logically, it simply makes sense to support another Republican leader, because Trump is never going to gain enough votes to win again. Too many people are simply going to vote against him…like they logically did in 2020. IMO, Trump absolutely poisoned the Republican well so much that I’d be shocked if we see another Republican President in the next couple decades.
