Hey, tbone! IT was good seeing you again. Have a great new year! See you again in the 5th dimension!
Take care, shannon! I hope you had a wonderful time during this marathon and Have a Happy New Year, sending good vibes your way! Until then, catch you in the Zone next time in the 5th dimension!
I would be so down to have a huge potluck with fellow Zoners watching the marathon!
That actually sounds really good! I never had the organic one, I will have to try that.
Right?! That one I really enjoy and screen it for the Film Class that I T.A. for when we cover Science Fiction. That is a great list you have there, shannon! The After Hours, how did I skip that one?! Jess-Belle! A fantastic one! See it's so hard to put a list together!
@andreaahr, that sounds so good right now! Especially with the Martinelli's Apple Cider! I need to run out and buy a bottle. Some friends might stop by, so I will have to go mobile.
@shannongr Can never go wrong with Holiday Leftovers! Those butter spritz cookies sounds amazing! I am so jealous right now, lol. You enjoy them!
I have my Garlic Shrimp Spaghetti Aglio e Olio, leftover lasagna, some Hawaiian BBQ. Sooo good, yet so unhealthy, but oh so good! Eat up and drink up everyone and have a great night marathoning TZ!
Lol, shannongr my new lady friend the same thing and my ex-girlfriend as well. They were like "wow, he's so handsome." I just said, "But they are hideous!" Lmao. Great episode to introduce to newbies.
It is hard to pick which one is my favorite. My Top 10:
The Lonely
Eye of the Beholder
Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up?
A Stop at Willoughby
The Obsolete Man
Time Enough at Last
What You Need or People are Alike All Over (tie between these two)
Mirror Image
Five Characters in Search of an Exit
The Obsolete Man
Galactus, seriously that is inspirational and really made me think about the food that I need to toss out too and cut out of my diet. I know that I will have to do the same, as we age it gets tougher and we have to be more consciousness about our decisions on what we put into our bodies and to hear your story and many others is truly inspirational and pushes me even more to do it. Thank you so much for sharing and I cannot wait to hear more from you. Sending positive vibes your way and keep up the great work on yourself, bud!
Goodnight, Shibez! We will continue on this TZ marathon and Happy New Year, my friend, we all are wishing you the best! Take care!
I really love her performance as well. It was such a surreal like feel, as if she was a real life doll with a dreamer outlook on life, hard to explain, but something off and trance like with the way how she carried herself gracefully and dreamy.
Definitely loneliness and isolation is heavy subject. Loving to see other posts in this thread and adding more to the reoccurring themes in TZ. Great discussions here.
Yes, she was the ballerina in the episode. Such a stunning woman.
g-bone! Jack Klugman was always a great reliable actor! You always know you would get a great performance from him.
I used to skip this episode, but the last few years, this has gone up on the ranks of the ones that I thoroughly enjoy watching.
That is another great one, hownos. Last man on earth. Also, dealing with grief, pain, and loss.
These are not arguments that I am making; I am just chiming in and adding more to the themes, but Mr. Serling liked to talk about the horrors of war, nostalgia, the consequences of lacking empathy, the afterlife, and there are so much more.
I had a friend watch a few episodes and it was her first time actually watching the show and she said with her observation she noticed that a it deals a lot with people being lonely or deal with being alone. Also being nostalgic about better times and how they long to be back in the past, i.e., Walking Distance, The Sixteen-Millimeter Shrine, The Lonely, Time Enough at Last, A Stop at Willoughby, and there were a few other episodes she mentioned. She really enjoyed them, but mentioned that about how she felt and it was an interesting conversation.
I would love to hear other thoughts! Great post, shannongr!
I had the pleasure to watch this on the big screen a few months back for the Twilight Zone: A 60th Anniversary Celebration by Fathom Events. Wow, that was quite an experience to watch it in a large empty theater. It was just me and two other people. That episode on the big screen hits you even harder. Knowing that was going to happen just really got to me. I blurted out "Oh, no!" This is such a tragic ending; sort of a sick joke. It is one of my all time favorites, but it is hard to think about his fate after breaking his glasses.
Shibez, the pea soup sounds delicious. I had a ham and cheese croissant. The smash burger sounds delicious right now, but I need to get around to that Garlic Shrimp Spaghetti Aglio e Olio. Also, that is great to hear you getting your diabetes under control and your weight loss. Keep it up, my friend! Let's all enjoy a wonderful meal during this TZ marathon!
Galactus, that is great to hear! It is truly inspirational and admirable to hear your journey on a healthier diet. I know I need to do that as well and try to discipline myself.
Same here! Lol, I will have to make that Garlic Shrimp Spaghetti Aglio e Olio. That keto cake you made sounds amazing, what kind was it that you made specifically?
