Oh, she was. It was explained that Jean created a force field to protect herself from the flood. Jean gets impaled at the end of this movie and heals herself. When did she have regenerative abilities? The spark that created the universe according to the movie. There were reports about the joke in December of 2017 and reshoot had not happened at that point. Jean was simply suffering from PTSD that the force had unleashed, Xavier didn’t really die in X3 as the post-credit scene shows, Jean completely ignored any Magneto orders he gave to her, and finally Jean didn’t die at the end of the movie she became the Dark Phoenix. Remember that vision future Jean had in X-Men: Apocalypse of a world being destroyed by fire? That was suppose to happen in the sequel to this movie. Back in 2017 Simon Kinberg told Entertainment Weekly that the solar flare had unlocked the full power of the Phoenix Force that was inside of Jean. The cosmic energy is never once referred to as the Phoenix Force in the movie. Did you watch the movie? Because Jean didn’t become the Dark Phoenix. It only teased at her becoming the Dark Phoenix for a future film. They didn’t ignore that movie. Have you read the saga? Because Jean didn’t even become the Dark Phoenix I’m the movie. They only hint at her becoming the Dark Phoenix at the very end for a future movie that won’t happen now. That is like saying Deadpool is a retread of Origins. You’re seriously saying that Jean was the protagonist in X3 like she was in Dark Phoenix? The movement happened after the movie finished filming. Only morons get upset over people’s opinions on a comedy. Actually, the final cut is a pretty average movie. A lot of the criticisms it got weren’t valid. People seriously believe Jean was possessed despite being nothing in the movie that suggests that. Well Jean became a giant bird at the end of X2 and returned to her human form in X3. Jean is alive at the end of this movie. She simply evolved into a cosmic being. Jessica Chastain said that this would happen earlier in the film. Jean says so in the voiceover at the end and the last shot is of her flying in the sky. Yeah. I wanted to see more.
it just wasn't what I expected from an X-Man movie.
That is what the director was aiming for. Hence why they dropped the title from the movie. Interestingly, Jean never actually turns to the dark side in this movie.
