LOL. Why is Frieda Pinto in this?
What exactly happened at the end? (spoilers)
To the folks who aren't bothered by whitewashing...
Confused -- it seemed like there were two creatures (spoilers, obviously)

He definitely looks younger than 52. Come on:

He could easily pass as early 40's or maybe even late 30's if the lighting is right. Compare him to other actors at 52, and you'll see a clear difference.
Yep, I actually think he has gotten better looking with age. He has always looked younger than his actual age, so having a slightly more 'weathered' look now is a good look on him.
Yeah, but this is what people think UNTIL a white character (or a character they think should be white) is played by someone non-white. People complained when Rue from the Hunger Games was played by Amandla Stenberg, who's biracial. There were also complaints when Idris Elba played Heimdall in the Thor and Avengers movies. So it's a bit odd that folks insist on only focusing on the movie's quality when it's whitewashing but don't say the same when white characters are 'blackwashed.'
I was wondering about that too. I couldn't tell if the movie was suggesting that or simply making a point that the creature is attracted to blood.
I was also confused because the whole time I thought there were TWO creatures -- one that got stuck outside when the French lady died and then the one that seemed to have grown inside while it was attached to the British dude's leg. I thought maybe it had split or something.
I disagree. I saw it on opening night and found it underwhelming. The visuals were great, and I was surprised that I liked the Beast as much as I did. However, I thought Emma Watson was miscast and her singing wasn't very good. And more importantly, while there were many funny parts, most of the other characters were not memorable the way they were in the original especially Gaston and LeFou. I found myself more interested in the clock than anyone else.
Also, there was something off about the pacing. I don't know if this was due to an issue with translating animated stories to live action, but the whole movie came across like 'scene, scene, now this scene, now the next scene, now this, now that.' It didn't flow very well.
