Disagree, Romance spy movies are great when done correctly. Truelies, Mr.&Miss Smith are absolute examples. I think the fault for Jack Ryan was the script. I just watched the movie, and listened to the director's commentary. They were originally planned to make the movie from the stand point of female lover. The story was expanding through Jack Rayne flash backs. When Jack Reveals that he'sin the CIA to his lover, the viewer actually gets the true picture. But they changed that format, settled for straight narration. The only flash back set in the Movie was the Car Ring scene.

I think Oculus is way better than this. Second half turned so shallow. The father son duo, seemed to be so weak characters in the second half, they seemed to be a strong believers​ of the Ghosts. Which is the only bad thing in the Movie.

I don't agree. I think the film was made by Videogamers / studio head. They made a perfect plot device to "NOT TO INTERFERE WITH ORIGINAL VIDEO GAME CANNON". They put that into current timeline with Memory projection. It's a good interesting idea. I think the movie failed because of AN ABSENCE OF A GOOD VILLIAN. (Pls lead actor sucks, he should not have done double role. Instead he should have, only played the original Creed himeslf)
