It is very hard to say right now. J2 have said repeatedly that they want 300. There was a fan uproar for more and they went on to say it was a milestone and not an end. That would put it at episode 13 of season 14. However, that was before some fans started becoming vocal about the direction of the show. Right now is not a good time for the show at all. Many fans voiced how much they hated this year, there seems to be some major drama with Mark S.'s departure and Dabb finally responded to some of the hate tweets he has received. Jensen said he would stay as long he was happy. So far he hasn't mentioned any problems and has even complimented the writers. Jared should obviously be happy after last season. The only thing that might truly derail the show is the ratings but even then they should be able to limp it to 300. After that J2 wants to do mini-seasons of 4 to 8 episodes and that could go on for years especially if it is on Netflix.
What happened was horrible and there is no way to fix it but every time something like this happens thousands of good people mobilize and stand against it. That's why evil people will never truly win when they are so outnumbered by the good.
I can't wait for the Phoenix con. Ruth and Mark will be there and I am equally interested in what she has to say. This was handled incredibly bad and it affects the whole show. Jensen has said repeatedly how he stays on because of how fun the set is and how everyone is family particularly how much he liked working with Mark. Also, when it stops feeling that way its time to go. Screwing over actors who are friends with the stars does not make for a happy set.
The same thing happened here in the states with 9/11. I was amazed how nice everyone was to each other no matter who they were. Even driving on the roads everyone seemed to drive slower and let others have the right of way. It lasted for about two weeks, really made me wonder why we couldn't do it longer.
"Did Dabb and Singer not sit down and talk to him about what was happening? It is at least polite."
I don't believe those two incompetents did at all. Dabb had no idea what to do with Crowley, gave him a boring story at the end then just cast him away like used garbage. When they promoted Mark P. Mark S. probably saw the writing on the wall. Then after the horrible send off they gave him, I can see why he is upset. The dead silence from everyone is very telling.
Stay safe over there. All of you.
It looks like some of the news outlets are finally recognizing that Mark really is leaving the show. Of course it is all based off his tweets which is surreal. This is one week after the season finale. Again, it says a lot when no one believes any of your big deaths were real.
No offense but I have a real love hate relationship with British shows. They are sooooo good but so short and the actors rotate much more frequently. Also, there is no rhyme or reason to the seasons (or series) they can go years between episodes. I always hated that and I hate that american TV is starting to go down that road. However, 6 good episodes of Sam and Dean a year is far better than the breadcrumbs we have gotten the past two seasons. With a decent budget and J2 being totally invested in the shoot it could be really good, like stranger things. Better locations, extended fight scenes, stories solely about Sam and Dean with both of them getting equal attention and I am in.
This was such a sad departure for him. He was sandwiched in between two big deaths and even now people aren't sure any of them are really dead. There was no fanfare for his death, no big articles or fan anger. People seemed way more upset by Mick and Eileen's death then Crowley's. Mark was with the show 8 years and deserved some recognition by the CW and the show runners. Dabb's favoritism of his pet characters has cost us a great member of this show. I totally understand why Mark wanted to move on and am disappointed with how little of a deal they made of his send off. The only one screwed worse was Ruth.
I would say season 14 would have at least 13 episodes. That would get them to the 300 they seem fixed on. After that who knows? Last year the J's were talking about a movie or series of movies like Gilmore Girls. Then it changed to 8 episode runs. Last week, they seemed more interested in 6 episode stories that take place in one town. I don't know where the 4 episode talk came from unless it was the Gilmore girl/netflix type scenario they floated before. Makes it seem even more likely that Dabb and crew will get to ride this into the ground and send the show off with a whimper.
I very much want that to be true but it is all wishful thinking. It's too late to change this, they are writing season 13 right now. Worse still, there is no indication that anyone at the CW has a problem with season 12 at all. Even Jensen seems happy with his role this year. I have no interest in 13, I have no hope that Dabb will do anything for Dean fans and all I believe all they will do is give the big kills to the spin-off auditions and have them save Dean for easy badass cred. I am actually glad we are in hiatus and I am seriously thinking about not coming back.
Some of the boards have been dissecting the death scene. Some think Cas's wings look different and are calling them Dragon wings. I think it is giving the writers too much credit. I think it will be an easy nephilim resurrection.
Very upset with how they did it. She deserved an on screen death.
He started a brewing company and he is now unable to direct an episode this season because of a conflict with the opening.
My new hope is Dabb and crew get called out at San Diego comic con. Creation insulates the guests and controls the questions and no one besides Singer really shows up anyway. Hopefully someone will hit Dabb like they hit Carver over Charlie.
It's interesting that we had three major deaths and all the boards are debating if any of them are real.
I think Jensen gives his all with whatever is written for him and I credit the slide and behind the back shoot 100% to him. At the same time, he really fought some wars back in the day. He brought a lot of attention to the Gamble debacle and he had many meetings in the past when things started to derail. He has done his part and I appreciate it. I don't fault him at all for this season. He had twins, started a brewery and spent a huge amount of time at conventions. I do think Dabb and Singer took advantage of that while Jensen was distracted (deservedly so) and turned 12 into the Sam and Mary show.
Which part? The not feeling anything or the like Crowley.
Yep the Sam speech which led all the hunters to their deaths.
Yes, and at this point you can't even trust Jensen's comments about these episodes. Considering all the bait and switch they have done this season I don't trust any of the promos any more. It's Sam's show now...love it or leave it.
