The point of the story of Dr. Cara with her husband being murdered in Christmas Eve after coming out of their Church service is that she hasn't lost faith in God even going through this horrible experience, she still prays with her daughter which we learned has lost faith in God, she even tells Adam/David that even thought she is a woman of science she also is a woman of God (or something like that I don't remember exactly how she said it) when he asked her about the Christian cross pendant, therefore we can assume that she is protected from the Reverend when she talks to Adam/David.
It wasn't a red herring, is just to explain how basically in the plot she can stay alive throughout the movie.
Makes me think about Job, she lost her husband, then the Father, brother and daughter in one night and then plus her daughter's body is David's soul's shelter and frikkin paralyzed! Only people with true faith in God can endure all that.
Alan realized Sam was taking forever to pee so he was counting the seconds, actually that's what I did the first time Sam was peeing lol (A League Of Their Own came to my mind) so he used that to know how much time he had while Sam was peeing so he could ...

So if the black man is the bad one? then is cliche too? But if its a bad white one is cliche also? So any way will be cliche? š¤Ŗš
Just stop watching movies altogether... š
I enjoyed the movie very much and didnāt think of colors or races until now, the only thing I thought was that probably they didnāt need to show off the black actorās very well-built body š, looks like he was modeling at the kitchen scene
Yes, I think the mother wrote the book, gave more confirmation once she says she was a writer and worked with some children stuff.
When she wakes up, looks like she didnāt rest at all and then the book is in the entrance, glued and added pages. I had thought that her hands were dirty from the ink but because I had not payed attention until she burned the book.
I also have the same theory, the grief, the insomnia, the fear coming back every year before the anniversary, like reliving the same, that mental state that you bottle up, it really F everything up until you can just accept it, confront it and learn to control it, it will never go away but it can get weaker and tamed in that ābasementā as you live with it. I know it.
I simply loved the movie. If I was a writer I would have wrote it myself.
Watch the last episode again. Who do you think is the wrapped burrito in Joe's car trunk? and the forensic people in white uncovering it in the hole that Joe previously digged and buried in the therapist's house front yard? There is no missing nobody. They found her right away. That's how they got Nicky and Beck's manuscrit fits the story of him being obsessed with her and her imminent murder. No mystery here, the friends being interviewed and all, her book turning a best seller because of it.
I think you missed big part of the ending. Everything indicates story will continue with Cadence.
I really liked the show and Beck until the end. Sadly that part about her not finishing the job is costing

her being in a second season :( it really disappointed me a lot that he killed her, I don't like Candace, I'm not interested in a second season without Beck :(

The family studio photo? it was Sam missing as we learned that the Father abused his own daughter, Jane, so Sam is Jane's son and I imagine this photo was like when they were still a "normal" family. Sam probably was born right after that and in between Jack testifying, I mean Sam looked like a 4y old. so I don't think the whole family had a photo together anymore with Sam on it.
I just could not stand that they were walking over leaves and not making any noise, haha yeah sure, also it bothered me that it was cold, they were wearing winter jackets and hats but were walking barefoot like if they were in the beach? oh c'mon, also the Dad even the Mom could bend down that nail with something solid without noise easily. Many holes and I don't know but this spoiled the suspense I didn't even find it scary. Disappointed.
The ghost we see getting old through time (sheet is dirty) is the same ghost Casey sees on the wall as a light when they are in the sofa and when Mara leaves the house at the end we see the new ghost so its like a paradox? Does the note say "I will never come back" or "bye" or "I will always love you" I think? when the neighbor ghost says he's waiting but can't remember and the house gets destroyed he says I think they ain't coming back so it vanishes no more waiting so I imagine when old ghost reads the note realizes that she is not coming back? or he just wanted to read it so is done? and vanishes BUT I thought that when old ghost was new and kept scratching the paint to get the note and the camera is inside the cavity, the note is not there anymore so it means the old ghost had taken it out already?, although I thought he almost reached it when the backhoe came throught the window, I'm confused. I know is confusing so apparently the old ghost took the note which was at the edge of the paint just after Mara left easier to pick out and the new ghost spent the eternity trying to reach it when there was no note? I don't know anymore. He just didn't want to leave the house and wanted to read the wife's note, so when he reads it that's it? I mean the feeling of grabbing the note grows in the movie so that's the goal I guess
I was about to turn it off when the pie but I ended up liking it very much, a weird movie that made me feel very weird, like sad, feel like crying, it makes me depressed, my Dad's passing anniversary was this week and my Mom's day was 2 days ago so it always makes me feel weird and this movie made me feel even weirder but in a weird way, like when you are sad and listening to a sad song makes you feel worst but good.
Good movie 8/10
I just watched the movie again yesterday on video after a while, and I was just thinking without even paying attention to the business' names "wait a minute, why is he taking a cab if he is in the same street?" and also when he arrived to the house on his Range Rover by the left side, I thought I was crazy until I read this LOL
I thought 1) Fidelio was just the password for the piano player and 2)Everybody knew everybody from their masks, they were all different just like faces so they saw that new one and went bonkers
They call him Choi, even if in Korea is Chwe, same way some american friends call me (my real spanish/italian name) what they want even when I have told them several times how is pronounced and they can even hear my husband or other friends calling me the right way.
