Done! Okay, so I think that we can safely say that as long as you only do one quote, bold, or italics per post, everything is fine. However, once you do more than one, it gets them all confused. I bet the same thing happens with spoilers... [spoiler]Spoil me.[/spoiler] Spoil me not. [spoiler]Spoil me.[/spoiler] Just what I thought...The same damn thing. [quote]A pal, said he couldn't do multiple quotes in a post earlier this week.[/quote] No quotes here [quote]I think I know what happened.[/quote] [i]Italicize me[/i] Stop italicizing. Thanks to all for your input. Let's try out of a couple of things... [i]Italicize me[/i] Italicize me not [i]Italicize me[/i] [quote]I think I know what happened.[/quote] Stop quoting. It's been a glitch for a couple of weeks now. I'm guessing it worked okay for you a few days ago because you only did one [b]bold[/b] in your post. See--It works just fine as long as you only do one bold per post. I haven't posted today yet, so I don't know, but I've been having trouble with my "back" button on this site recently. It's like it refuses to take me "back" half the time. Also, did anyone notice the "bolding" problem? For example, if I were to post this (without the spaces of course)... [ b ]Posting bold once[ /b ] No bold here [ b ]Posting bold twice[ /b ] ...it comes out looking like this... [b]Posting bold once[/b] No bold here [b]Posting bold twice[/b] The tags should be gone, and it bolds everything from that point on, whether I want it bolded or not. Ah yes, Eyewitness Blues! That's a great episode (Cindy to the rescue with her klutziness!) You're right--Janet had it bad for the cop (I totally forgot about that), but when they thought that he was the robber (because of the tattoo), she turned on him in an instant and whacked him over the head with a pan! The robber didn't turn out to be Terri's blind date though. They just assumed that's who he was when he came to the door, and he didn't tell them otherwise. Whatever did happen to Terri's real blind date anyway? He must've chickened out and never showed up! [url]www.avclub.com[/url] You're right, but it shouldn't have to. If it works from copy and paste, then it should work as a link too. Wouldn't you agree? Jim needs to fix that. Try it with something OTHER than Moviechat. That's exactly what I did. See if it works for you Cat. I'm with you Prelude. It would be so much quicker than opening it up and then having to click on "jump to latest". I think that was one of the best things that IMDb ever did with their Message Boards. By the way, [url]www.filmboards.com[/url] already had this done a long time ago. {Edit: The link doesn't work--Another glitch that Jim needs to fix} It looks like there is a glitch with the bolding. Has anyone mentioned this to Jim yet? Also, when we used to be able to use "a href" for links, those old posts now completely ignore the HTML-tags. I spent A LOT of time putting those tags in some of my posts, and I would hate to see all my links gone...just like that. Edit: I just found out that there is now a 2000-character limit on posts? That is so unbelievably lame! Man, this web-site just keeps getting worse and worse. Welcome Metatron and Dandy-Dan! It's good to have you back! {and thanks to Legnadibrom for keeping us on the trending-line} This is what Jim told me in an E-Mail... [b]"a href" tags have been disabled for security reasons due to spammers disguising their links. Disguising links is not possible with the new [url] tags.[/b] This is sad because this was my favorite thing about MovieChat. Thanks to you AtomicReturns for figuring out how to do it right from the start and for taking the time to show us how. But I think I may have found a way for Jim to put it back in using the new URL-tags. He could do something like this... [url=moviechat.com]Hi there![/url] ...where "Hi there!" is what you click on, and "moviechat.com" is the link. Yep, that's why I care so much, and that's why I'm not giving up without a fight. I got a reply from Jim, and he said that he is disabling the "href" way because spammers are using them (or something like that). Doing links without listing the entire URL was one of my favorite things that you could do here that you could never do at IMDb. Take a look at this thread that I did a while ago, and imagine what a mess it would be if I had to list every single URL... [url]https://moviechat.org/movies/tt0075596/posts/58c4d551d3535f0011371c73[/url] Oh well...The good Jim giveth, and the good Jim taketh away. True, but I've gotten to like the "href" way. Anyway, I just sent an E-mail to Jim, and I'm sure that it won't be too hard for him to fix it. Thanks again for all of your help April. You're always my "go-to gal" whenever I need help or info on this site. You always seem to be on top of everything that goes on around here, and you always have a wonderful attitude as well. You're right April. I just realized that it's only a glitch if it's the OP. What's the best way to let them know that they need to fix it? Not if you go back and edit that post. Try it (Change your period to an exclamation point and save it), and you'll see what I mean.
