Ok I see what you mean. I went to one of my old posts where I was the OP with a link and when I hit edit, I noticed while the edit screen was open that the code characters that surround the link disappear for some reason. I guess just tell people that their link no longer works lol? They can always just fix it by doing it the old IMDb way:
Anyway, I just sent an E-mail to Jim, and I'm sure that it won't be too hard for him to fix it.
Thanks again for all of your help April. You're always my "go-to gal" whenever I need help or info on this site. You always seem to be on top of everything that goes on around here, and you always have a wonderful attitude as well.
So it seems like it's only the OP who can't use the href way, right?
Test
[edit] Okay, it doesn't seem to work anymore even as a poster who is not the OP. Seems to be disabled for all users now. When you use the href method it just takes away the code and posts the word.
This is what Jim told me in an E-Mail... "a href" tags have been disabled for security reasons due to spammers disguising their links. Disguising links is not possible with the new [url] tags.
This is sad because this was my favorite thing about MovieChat. Thanks to you AtomicReturns for figuring out how to do it right from the start and for taking the time to show us how.
But I think I may have found a way for Jim to put it back in using the new URL-tags. He could do something like this...
[url=moviechat.com]Hi there![/url]
...where "Hi there!" is what you click on, and "moviechat.com" is the link.
>>>> Still works the other way too for if you want to customize the link with your own words!<<<<
I will give it a try. Carla Gugino
Carla Gugino
Nope did not work. It used to be when you did this
And put the link between this "" and the name between this>< the name would show and you could click on it for the picture. That is what I did above and the name is shown but you can't click on it.
