So it makes zero sense that Obi-Wan and her as a child are going on this big adventure together, bonding, him saving her life etc. Then in A New Hope she comes to him on behalf of her father saying "You served my father in the Clone Wars, now he begs you to help him in his struggle against The Empire".
If all this happened in Ob-Wan wouldn't she immediately be like "When i was a child you saved my life"? She never mentions anything about knowing Ob-Wan as a child, shes coming to him clearly just cause her father knew him and he told her to contact him.
Thats where the connection into A New Hope gets really hard to buy.
Unless Leia's mind gets wiped of all her interactions with Obi-Wan, but i don't see that happening.
I'm wondering if by the time we get to A New Hope, there's a reason Leia and Obi-Wan would need to keep that mission a secret. If that's the case, maybe Leia needed to leave out that detail in case her message was intercepted.
The writers have said that they will not contradict anything in A New Hope. They still could, but I'm just wondering if they might have a "reason" for why Leia chose not to mention this adventure in her message.

Maybe to protect her father and Alderaan.
She also recorded that message while being boarded for the empire. So, she didn’t have much time and chose to focus on the Clone Wars since she wanted Obi-Wan to join the rebellion and fight another war.

Not exactly the first time Star Wars has seemingly contradicted itself. I mean Darth and Obi's meeting in New Hope was supposedly meant to be the first time they met since Obi left him to burn to death, although going by their dialogue you wouldn't think this was the case. Their "reunion" in Obi Wan Kenobi made more sense than that.
As long as its a different writer, I find plot contradictions in the Star Wars universe perfectly fine. Therefore, I am fine what Disney does because they are not George Lucas
It's weird to say "You served my father in the Clone Wars..."
When they have met each other SEVERAL times before.
Should have said something like... "I need your help again" or something along those lines.
The way she speaks in her message always gave me the impression that she had been told about Obi-Wan's existence by others but she had never met him.
I would also say the same about Vader/Obi-Wan's duel in the Death Star... they hadn't seen each other since Revenge Of The Sith... if Vader had to be included in this series he shouldn't have interacted with Obi-Wan.
Yeah and especially since its what just 10 years later when A New Hope happens, its not like Leia would just forget about knowing Obi-Wan only 10 years ago.
We know it's all ret-conning and highly imperfect reconciliation BUT
"You served my father in the Clone Wars..." could be a call to action, since the rebellion is now well underway, and Obi-Wan has presumably stayed out of it.
"I need your help again" makes sense, but she's not asking him to save Leia herself. She wants him to assist the rebels, something which, by this point, she may know he's been conscientiously avoiding.
"The way she speaks in her message always gave me the impression that she had been told about Obi-Wan's existence by others but she had never met him.
Absolutely, and there's no fixing it. Best we can do is accept their attempt at consistency.

Obviously that was the original intent, back when Vader wasn't even Luke Skywalker's dad yet. There was nothing in that battle to suggest that Kenobi had been Vader's personal master, just a master in general. Certainly there was no implication of a deep friendship.
But that part all still fits. And I'm willing to accept their confrontation here as consistent as well, primarily because Obi-Wan demonstrated that he's still the "master" between the two of them.

I finale does cover this.
Obi-wan tells Leia that not one must know that the two of them know each other. So she must be quiet about it. By having her message include "You served my father in the Clone Wars..." it gives the indication that she and Obi-Wan are not connected in any direct way.
I was going to make a similar post, but might as well comment here.
It was really stupid she called him Obi-Wan in the finale. They even had an out that she knew him as "Ben", because you are right: She never met him. These are not the words of a kid that had an adventure with this guy:
"General Kenobi. Years ago you served my father in the Clone Wars. Now he begs you to help him in his struggle against the Empire. I regret that I am unable to present my father's request to you in person, but my ship has fallen under attack, and I'm afraid my mission to bring you to Alderaan has failed. I have placed information vital to the survival of the Rebellion into the memory systems of this R2 unit. My father will know how to retrieve it. You must see this droid safely delivered to him on Alderaan. This is our most desperate hour. Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi. You're my only hope. "
This show is well-done, but flies in the face of A New Hope.
Obi Wan cautioned her to be careful that no one finds out they know each other. Plus, as a Princess(royalty) she is used to being formal with even a friend. This was a formal message and her words were right to use considering she was royalty. The series perfectly goes with that event in A New Hope
She sent a message via R2 getting straight to the point. Keep in mind she's all grown up now, and (as far as we know) hasn't seen Kenobi in 10 years. She had an adventure with this guy when she was 10 and now she's 20. She's not going to act like the same giddy kid she was when she saw him last. Most likely he still stands out as a significant figure in her past, but the time for reminiscing is when they get together again, not through a brief message delivered by some droid
