Non canonizes the series (in terms of the OT) before its even began.
However, they are going with Euan McGregor's prequel Obi-Wan and the prequels aren't consistent with the OT anyway. Therefore they should just officially split the two and let this show go forward with whatever happening, e.g. Vader vs Obi Wan multiple lightsaber duals, introducing other Jedi / powerful force users, etc.
How are we going to see his face or hear his voice other than possibly his mask being destroyed in battle?
