Another One Bites the Dust
Pointless third season, should have ended in season 2.
They actually wrapped up the story TOO thoroughly at the end of S2, so much so that they've basically had to start all over and build up an entirely new arc. Which has been a bit slow, but the first two seasons got going at a leisurely pace and thry turned out great, and I'm enjoying the ride.
Of course I'm enjoying it a lot more since MG reappeared, I LOVE him! I do so enjoy a villain played up to the top, a serious with an inexpressive hero needs someone else who is lively on the screen.
The story wasn’t wrapped up in S2 at all.
Luke took Grogu and we didn’t know what was going to happen him.
Din got the Dark Saber and was unable to give it to Bo Ka Tan. Their fates was uncertain, as well as the fates of the Mandalorians.
At least now they returned to Mandalore and its clear that Din and Grogu are staying together and having adventures.
Well, story of "The Clan of Two" seemed to be wrapped up! Wrapped up so thoroughly that they had to shoehorn some really idiotic plot twists into "Boba Fett" to undo the emotional climax of S2, where they couldn't ruin the stellar reputation of "The Mandalorian".
Seriously, in order to reunite the Clan-of-Two, they had to make Luke act like a complete fucking idiot. I'm not one of the Luke Fanboys that are so common around here, in fact I think that Luke was always a bit of a dope, but for fuck's sake the Luke we knew wouldn't send an unescorted infant into a war zone!! And just he didn't like the kid's preference in toys, without finding if anyone there was able to care for the infant, and knowing the kid was too young to begin training anyway! Gawd, that whole show pissed me off.
Pretty awesome action in the finale.
This season as a whole felt like a canceled show that was rescued by another network. So they had to make up a bunch of new crap. But at the same time, the rushed version of what should have been a whole nother spin-off show.
It's like the writers have this big idea in mind for what they actually want to do, which is obviously the Heir to the Empire storyline, and they're just trying to rush through all this setup material as quickly as possible.
Didn't even get a post-credits Captain Pallaeon & Grand Admiral Thrawn discussing the loss of Moff Gideon scene, what the heck? Are they trying not to get us excited for Star Wars Ahsoka?
shareExactly! everything felt so flat, I always knew they were going to ruin this show at some point, and here we are.
Let's hope they don't ruin the final season of Andor (and probably they will LOL)
Too much whining.
Alright Episode 6 was absolute garbage but the final two parts were vastly superior to anything we saw in the DT.
I mean, all we really wanted was a Darth Vader replacement, and rather than that idiotic emo kid, we actually got one here. The scene with baby Yoda shielding them was terrific - predictable sure but laugh out loud hand clapping stuff.
I now have a lot of hope for the Filoni film. If they manage to weave together these characters with de-aged legacy Luke, Han & Leia in battle against Thrawn, we could get something infinitely more satisfying than the pathetic "trilogy" we were previously served up...
Agreed, the last two episodes have been great.
I wonder if we’ll get a fourth season before Filoni’s film. Even if it’s a shortened 6 or 7 episode season that’s just some season 1 style Mando and Grogu side quest adventure episodes away from all the Mandalore stuff, I’d really like that.
I'm not sure where it's going to go next season in terms of build up before the film.
Going on his discussion with that new republic guy at the end, it looks like they will be searching the outer rim for imperial remnants. I was thinking this might lead to discovering Thrawn's location but it seems he'll already be in play from the Ahsoka show airing first.
But anyway, good to see someone else who enjoyed the finale 👍.
We're never seeing those two again, not like on the show. The way they did that telescope fairy tale zoom at the end, that was some classic "and they lived happily ever after" stuff.
shareNow to hear from the uber kewl this show should have never happened at all crowd. Those be some real, real ones
But the Mandos taking back Mandalore…. it ruled. Huh, bit the dust? Well free to stop watching at any time you are. Oh right that’s impossible for some, especially those who love to hate-watch things. Ain’t that right, MovieChan?
This might’ve been the most inconsistent season (not a complete home run like 1 & 2), but still solid overall — and not pointless. No? Well… Bring on season 4!
Why do i get the feeling that people are just hating this just to hate something. Frankly i didn't think this season was any worse than Season 2. Sorry. It was a little uneven. There few episode that felt like filler. But that is about it. Also Season 2 ended in a cliff hanger. There no way there wasn't going be a season 3. But Overall it was fine and the last 2 episode was fucking awesome.
shareFuck you, I LOVED season 3 overall! Okay, I didn't love every little bits of it, they took their time to set up a new direction for the plot and send the whole thing in a new direction, after wrapping up season 2 so thoroughly I suspect they never planned on a season 3.
But I LOVED the finale, the last two episodes were AWESOME!!! I swear to God, the show needs MG to bring some life to the series, with one main character who doesn't talk, and another who doesn't show his face. Now there's an character that livens up the screen, what a great bitch he is, just delicious to watch!
I loved Season 3. As far as I am concerned, the series could end right here.
