SPOILERS ALERT - how did HE become so good at fighting and destroying tons of his enemies?

For not being any type of (apparently) cop, Army man, CIA or FBI agent or even some trained hitman, and for failing to stop a robbery in his own home, how did he later become so damn PROFICIENT at killing and fighting tons of his enemies including seasoned Russian and otherwise Mafia hitmen and surviving himself, essentially turning himself into a hybrid of Liam Neeson from the "Taken" movies and "John Wick" with typical Van Damme and Steven Seagal type of action movie characteristics?

Where did he learn all those skills, where did he get the determination, how come at one point he was even able to effectively use a weapon to SAVE someone like an experienced surgeon on top of everything?

Cheers. And of course I did watch the movie and all that.

HUTCH WAS ONCE A SPOOKY MOTHER FUCKER FOR THE FBI...THE GUY THEY SEND TO ERASE LOOSE ENDS AND FUCK-UPS.

So he used to work for the FBI and learned some skills there? "Nobody" indeed. :) Even if the title was meant to be ironic.

The called him an "Auditor". An Assassin hired by intelligence agencies to go after people they deem "untouchable" & stuff.

So he used to be a hitman then? Like "John Wick"?

JOHN WICK AND NOBODY ARE BOTH MADE BY THE SAME STUDIO AND HAVE BEEN RUMORED TO BE IN THE SAME UNIVERSE.

I thought he was definitely prior military with the “old timer” Viet Nam vet at the tattoo parlor noticing his 7-2 tattoo and saying “Thank you for your service” and scurrying away to safety. Plus, the blackmailed CIA records guy pulled up all those docs and pictures that showed he was part of some clandestine government program and had the code name “Nobody.” So, it appeared to be in the background story that he was a high trained assassin who didn’t stop the burglary at his home because he say he was dealing with an amateur and desperate man and women who didn’t even have a loaded gun

I'll also add the reasons that he fails to stop the robbers at the start of the film.

Firstly he's basically retired and promised to leave this past behind and also noticed the weapon was old or was it that it wasn't loaded? Not seen it in a while.

Basically he knows he and his family are actually safe and showing off his hiden talents could lead to danger
