Arthur can't be the real Joker

when arthur meets bruce wayne, the latter is about 40 years younger than him.
that would make the joker from 'the dark knight' an old geezer of 70-80 years.
in fact, heath ledger was even 5 years younger than christian bale...

I think Arthur was meant to be in his 30s... Bruce 10ish... so 25 or so years older?
Batman in his prime is about 30, so 55 Joker?

Not a crazy picture.
Think Nicholson and Keaton.

There was a Batman before TDK.

TDK is the first time I’ve seen the Joker portrayed as younger than Batman.

In the Batman 1960’s series Joker was older. In “Batman” (1989) he was older and in the 1990’s “Batman: Mask of the Phantasm”, he was older.

TDK is not the be all and end all of all there is about Batman.

I thought the real Joker was in the movie, but not the one Arthur Fleck portrays. Isn't the real Joker suppose to be Jack Napier, someone more of a gangster than what Fleck became, and the one who kills Bruce Wayne's parents?

Fleck's Joker is what he is. For most of the movie, I didn't understand who he is and what is happening. I didn't read any backstory on this movie except that I knew it was going to be dark and violent. He becomes more of a clownish looking Joker, swift dancer, and political icon. Maybe there wasn't a sequel planned for this movie, but it has to now with the box office returns. Joker 2 could go several ways with who the real Joker is.
