because at no point anyone in this movie used one against these scissor clones

shareThe scissors are supposed to symbolize the severing of ties between the original and the tethered. They're cutting the thing that tethers them together with scissors. AKA: they gonna kill em.
shareYou can say the same thing for virtually every horror movie in a scenario where a crazy person is killing/attacking someone or a group of people and no one has a Gun. It would make the story (and I emphasize story) boring and not very creative.
shareNot the same thing, in alot of horror movies they're in the middle of nowhere with no way to get to a gun, in this movie we see news footage in the streets and you're telling me theres not a cop or anyone in sight with a gun to fight these people off? it just looks dumb. This isn't like a horror movie where a serial killer has you secluded out in the woods, this a widespread pandemic of nut jobs with scissors in the streets, their should be some people using guns against them.
shareFair enough I guess they could have included a short scene of someone on tv that has nothing to do with the story using a gun to try to kill a scissor person only to quickly be outnumbered by a mass of scissor people and stabbed to death.
shareThat scene wouldn't make much sense. You can be surrounded by nuts with scissors and stabbed to death with or without a gun. But you're more likely to be stabbed to death if all you have to defend yourself is a letter opener.
It's like zombie movies: people avoid using guns since they're noisy, but they don't throw them away. Better keep it with you, just in case.

They could have at least held the scissors sideways, like a gangsta.
