X-Women?
seemed out of place for this movie...
shareIn today's era of #MeTwat, GrrlPwr and sistahs doing it for themselves its actually expected to see this shaite
shareThis was shot before MeToo. The director even said he wasn’t thinking about it since he wrote it three years ago.
shareGuess nobody caught that line during the screening?
shareThe movie was in-development in 2017, which is when the big flare-up in the metoo movement happened. It was released in 2019. The notion that the political feminist rise in the zeitgeist didn't affect the film is laughable deflection.

Yeah that took me right out of the film when Mystique of all characters said that.
"The women are always saving the men"
Could not be further from the truth. Heck even in Dark Phoenix, Professor X is the one who saves Jean Gray from turning into an evil alien-influenced world destroyer.
Depends. She struggles with the school and Charles leadership. She wanted to leave and was generally not happy there - felt under-appreciated, it seemed. And when the gang she leads is specifically called ”men”, her comment made sense and that very moment all things considered.
shareOh good fuck! “Man” is a synonym for “human,” as all educated people know. It is NOT necessarily specific to the human male gender, which is why “he” is the universal human pronoun. You all know that I write “s/he” and “her/his” out of respect for gender equality, but there is a point where alleged equality becomes silly. “Woman” has NEVER been a universal pronoun. It is gender-specific and excludes males. “X-Wo/Men” is just plain stupid and awkward. I agree with the OP. A lot of folks need to pull the self-righteous stick out of their collective ass.
shareRumor has it that when the franchise is rebooted they'll be changing X-men to The Mutants. Meanwhile in the real world, we had a US congressman (or is it congressperson now?) conclude an opening prayer by saying "Amen and Awomen". We really are living in the Idiocracy future.
