WOW this is bad
I couldn't even finish the first episode it was so poor. I could tell almost immediately that there is no way spending my time on this would be justified.

Same here.
shareYou idiots it is an awesome show. You have to give it more than half an episode...🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
shareI am not going to waste my time on something with such poor writing and acting and such low production values that I can literally tell the actors are just sitting in a room.
And the music, my god, the corny music!
For *Netflix* this is embarrassingly bad.
Well don't waste anymore time. But your opinion is pretty much invalid since you only watched 1/2 hour out of 10.
shareInvalid? I don't think so. I was thinking about watching this but will not do so because of his opinion. I believe first impressions are adequate for sorting through infotainment. You can only spend your time once, you know.
shareThis is a scifi family drama with mostly unknown actors. To expect Oscar caliber performances is unrealistic. When was the last time you saw a Star Trek or Star Wars movie or TV series actor get a nomination for best actor on an awards show?? The performances are fine in this show. But go ahead and let one obnoxious review that watched a half hour make the decision for you. It's gonna get a second season so I'm happy with that...
shareThese are at least actors I've seen somewhere before, but I've watched Channel Zero on SyFY where usually all but one actor every season are completely unknown, and yet all the acting is top-notch.
Their level of fame is not what should make them good.
But they aren't bad. That is where you are wrong. You should not expect a show like this to be like House of Cards.

I am female, which I thought was obvious from my username, but regardless, don't rely on other people's opinions, watch the show and form your own.
I went 2.5 episodes hoping it would get better and never did. In fact it got worse, and all the SJW crap made me taste a little vomit in the back of my throat.
It's by-the-numbers diversity set in space, and poorly done at best: people make decisions to advance the plot, not because they're good decisions, and the Liberal agenda is there for all to see.
..Joe
Remember, at Netflix, it's always quantity over quality.
shareI thought it was good
shareI watched it all and thought the acting, writing, and production values were great. However, I did go in with an open mind, and don't try to hate everything I watch, so there's that. In terms of pure entertainment value I don't see why you wouldn't like this unless you're trying not to.
shareWell said Pete.
shareSeems like OP doesn't want to give it any chance, and if so, fine. It's just pretty sad that people will go out of their way to dislike something, instead of opening yourself up and potentially having another thing that brings you pleasure. I was so engaged with this show, I was rooting for them, crying for them, edge of my seat most of the time. If that's not something you want, why watch any movies or shows?
shareWhy do you presume to know what is going on in another person's head?
My outlook is that there are way too many truly great TV series (some of which I never even had the opportunity to watch, like Mad Men, or The Wire, or The Sopranos) for me to waste my time on the mediocre ones.
What I saw in that half hour did not look promising, and I decided to cut my losses.
He probably presumed, because you didn't have much of anything to say. So he filled in the blanks. You won't like Mad Men because most of the show takes place in rooms with actors....😂😂....see I didn't have to presume that, you actually said that about lost in space. Also the production values are top notch in Lost in Space. It had a big budget. Lots of outside and indoor scenes. Lots of expensive props. So I really don't see where you were going with that.
You don't have to watch the show. But again you watched a small bit of it. So your opinion on production values, acting etc. Are completely invalid and mean nothing since you haven't really watched the show. It would be like me saying Mad Men has boring characters after only watching the first 20 minutes of episode one without actually seeing any character growth over the course of several seasons.
The really interesting part, is time being so precious that she can't watch one full episode of a show, but not too precious to repeatedly return to a thread about that same show that she doesn't like. exatera has spent more time on this thread than actually watching the show. I can't be the only person to find her ridiculous.
shareYes, I did have quite enough to say, and I already said it above.
But then, not sure how much logical sense I can expect from someone who replied to me the way he did.
Funny thing is for all your posting. You really didn't say much....lol....
shareAh, I see, another one with poor reading comprehension.
Anyway, toodle-oo, I have better things do than watching such a low quality show, let alone talk to you all apologists on here.
Written by someone who knows they lost. Next time you try to debate about a tv show actually WATCH THE DAMN SHOW..apologists????...NO.... but you are a basher just to bash........ahhhhhhhhh.hahahahahahahahahahahahaha...😂😂😂😂😂
shareLook, when you tell me the sets actually look super-expensive, all I can say is that you must be blind, or perhaps your standards are just too low.
Nothing more to discuss, and I won't be checking the notifications for this thread.
The show is actually quite good and I was impressed with the production quality and often wondered if the show will be trimmed down due to the high production on display.
The acting was the best part except the boy Will who I thought was terribly stupid but hey, he moved the plot along.
All said, very enjoyable ride. Looking forward to season two.
I loved it, even Will, who at times seemed a little dense, I thought was a little more interesting than just a pure boy genius. He had flaws, like a lack of confidence, despite his braininess. I appreciated that, even though I agree he could be annoying. In the end he just loved that robot so damn much, and Robot loved him, and if a machine can learn the value of human life, maybe we can too...
shareI've not checked out of watching it entirely. After viewing the first 17 minutes, I got interrupted and didn't finish the first episode.
I am a bit perplexed though, as to how they have such futuristic-looking spacecraft and yet (in the flashback to Christmastime), everyone is sitting around a modern day-looking house and have handheld cellphones. I thought "well, it's a flashback" but then I noticed that everyone in the flashback is basically the same age as they are in the present.
So yeah, I've got concerns.
It does get revealed in the show, around episode 9.
shareThere is absolutely no way you can fairly judge an entire series on barely watching the 1st episode. I've watched COUNTLESS shows that got of slowly in the beginning and ended up pretty good.
shareAnd was this one good later on?
I even just looked at the IMDB reviews - on the first page all but one are negative. Doesn't instill enough faith in me to go further.
Especially since I've just found out about "Money Heist", and I'd rather spend my time on a taut, well-written show than on this mess.
You're entitled to your opinion and views. I don't question that. It is rather odd that you make so many comments on a show you didn't watch. You've spent more time criticizing the show than you spent watching it. Kinda seems odd. And yes, it was better later on.
shareI type quickly, I certainly haven't spent anywhere near half an hour on these responses. But you are entitled to your opinion also.
