Not all black people like this type of stuff.

I don't and never have. Tons of people I know don't. I'm not sure why the consensus is that we do, but I guess since it's marketed towards some people all white people just seem to think we are lining up to see this movie.

I can't stand Wayans and his brand of comedy and any thing putting more stereotyping on Black people that we all talk "supa ghetto" and have a lame sense of humor lol.

Anyways that's my .02. I'd love to hear if other people agree with me. Most black people I know like the same comedy movies everybody else likes. "Racial" comedy tends to only be funny to people stuck thinking they are living in 1865 and go to the "black lives matters" protests.

I'm white and I do, the trailers look hilarious.

No, not ALL white people think that. I certainly don't. So, basically, you just did the same thing that you're complaining about other people doing - generalizing the opinions of an entire race...

What's going on? What's all this shouting? We'll have no trouble here...

I'm sorry, I saw this movie and cracked up, and i'm black. LOL I'm older but I've noticed this whole PC route the world is heading in. People wouldn't have been as offended in the 90's and early 2000's as they are now.

It's not about being PC. It's about individual taste and everybody is not going to find the same things funny. And you're either ill informed or lying about the 90's and the early 2000's. There were plenty of people that didn't like or found certain movies offensive for whatever reason. I can think of one, Southpark the Movie, for instance.

What about Tyler Perry movies and shows though?

And what consensus would this be? I and anyone else I know don't think this. Perhaps it's your imagination getting the better of you? I've never seen or heard this opinion anywhere... until now.

It's interesting that the top two (meta) critic review are:

"Black” foregoes too much scene-setting, chronology and logic to stand completely on its own. As a piece of cultural criticism, however, it painstakingly eviscerates nearly every scene in “Grey” and skewers latent sexism, classism and ludicrous sexual innuendoes, as well as the original's numerous plot holes.

The film manages to be surprisingly subversive with its humor.

Is the movie political or just the interpretation?

I don't think anybody would really cares whether you liked the movie or not based on race. I don't even know where your getting that the consensus is that all black people will like this movie. I think it's just in your head man. The Wayne brothers make fun of everybody and exaggerate things. Most of it just isn't funny.

All the white people around here want to or are going to pay to see it. Pretty much all the black friends I have already seen it. What's that mean?

Some contrast to the title of this thread...

You're really stating the obvious.

By you saying "Not all black people like this type of stuff" you're basically generalizing by saying that there is some expectation that all black people will like this type of film, whihc is why you felt the need to say the opposite.

Nobody said that ALL black people like movies like this. I'm sure people who aren't narrow minded already know that everyone is different and likes different things, regardless of race.
