So why does this seem "woke" to you. Or are you gonna paste more links to try and explain yourself.

Like I thought...........

this may be the least woke movie of the year. Lee Daniels does not try and sugar coat the problems the family was having leading up to the alleged events. The only thing that appears to be changed is that they live in a somewhat nicer neighborhood than the real family.

Is it any good?

reply

no, I thought it was terrible. I very rarely stop watching a movie once I start it. I came very close with this one.

reply

Okay, thanks.

reply

Yeah...The Blaxorcist was cool

reply

Yes, was hoping for a nice drama then weird stuff started happening so I read up on it and learned it was a horror film. Pfff, I hate horror films so I didn’t finish. I would’ve preferred “woke’ whateverdafuk that is.

reply

Did you think it was a sequel to the Burt Reynolds movie?

reply

Yes, direct sequel.

I watched it today. This is a mix of family drama and supernatural horror, but it doesn't always blend well together. Some parts of the film work, but some don't. It's a bit messy and the tone isn't consistent. There are some effective moments though and I was engaged in what was happening for the most part. 6/10 is my rating.
