TV cops do that, but real cops have very strict rules about guns. In NY City a cop would get in trouble for breaking the rules if he walked up to a car on a traffic stop and touched or put his hand on his gun while the gun was still in the holster. Don't believe what you see on TV cop shows.

The most important thing is sincerity. If you can fake that you've got it made.

Lol cops don't draw their weapons without reason. Your opinion is based on movies/ tv. And any sensible cop will have on armor.

I'm an Australian who grew up in country towns, and I can tell you that the cops portrayed in this show are very realistic. There would be cops in country towns here who have worked 50+ years and never once drawn their gun. Even now living in a main city, I can't remember the last time I saw a cop wearing kevlar or anything other than a normal uniform, and I've seen only once in my lifetime (almost 40 years) a cop with his gun drawn.

Also, as for the poster who said they would have three or four backups if it were in a city - there would be back ups available if it were in a city. As you saw in the show, there were two cops on duty (and a third came in from a nearby town) and these are likely to be 30-50% of the police force in the town. Who would the back up be? You wouldn't wake up your cop mate in the middle of the night for something like a disturbance at the cemetery, when he would have to be on duty the next day.

The country out here is really beautiful (not at all like Wolf Creek!) and it is extremely safe to live in!!

If the show was made in the USA, the cops would have 3 or 4 backups, dogs and riot gear. They would shoot the naked folks because they were approaching. They would at least have their weapons out. Someone would have been tased for sure.
