Best shark movie since JAWS

The simplicity of it works incredibly well, the setup, the way they handle the shark, the thing with the dead whale, it centering about the beautiful Blake Lively who effortlessly carries the film and of course the action is very, very well done. Honesty the best and most enjoyable and rewatch able shark movie since JAWS.

Recommended.

That’s a bold statement right there. I’ll check this one out.

Yeah check it out.

I might watch it for the third time tonight, I quite like it, it’s very entertaining.

nice

When I saw it first I said the same thing, but I have since watched it twice more and it lessens on repeat viewings so it's below Jaws II for me again and maybe even Dark Blue Sea so it's likely number 4 which is still pretty high.

This one or Deep Blue Sea plays second fiddle to JAWS.

Honestly love them all.

The climax of the movie, you know what I'm talking about, I've re-watched several hundred times. Amazing CGI shot. Love it. LOVE IT.

The Shallows is a fantastic movie. Jaws will always be the supreme ruler of shark movies and, yes, Deep Blue Sea is damn good and rather original. But, The Shallows has a great CGI shark and some excellent moments. Definitely in the Top 3.

It was one of the better ones.

reply

I'd agree with that statement.

Now I'm not the biggest shark movie fanatic but of the ones I've seen this would be second only to Jaws.

reply

It's definitely second best to Jaws. My ranking of the best shark movies would be:
1. Jaws
2. The Shallows
3. Jaws 2
4. The Reef
5. The Meg
6. 47 Meters Down
7. Open Water
8. 47 Meters Down: Uncaged
9. Great White

I hate to break it to everyone, but Cruel Jaws (1995) is 100% the best shark movie made after Jaws.
