So, if they don't have a reflection...
Then wouldn't they not show up on film? Hmmm. I'm sure the film's hilarious, but they probably should have left out the whole "no reflection" thing.

Everybody knows that vampires don't have reflections! Haven't you ever seen vampire movies before?
Disregard the camera thing. It's a movie.
I think some people are just incapable of enjoying anything.
shareExactly!!! Just like the question as to why they can hold things up in the mirror, but their clothes don't show up? Because it's a movie! And it's much funnier that way.
shareI hadn't thought about the silver backing on mirrors as a factor. Just last year I decided the lack of reflection has more to do with pre-Newtonian optics, theories about vision being the product of rays going from the viewer's eyes then reflected back. the undead would have limited abilities that way. Bu in the end--there's no need to go deep or out on this, Just enjoy the silliness.
shareThey had that in Buffy too. Angel couldn't appear in mirrors but he could appear in pictures.
shareReading this thread reminds me of why I want to punch a lot of people flush in the face!!!
shareVampire folklore varies as much from country to country as it does from book to book and film to film. Some vamps have reflections..some don't. Some must sleep in earth filled cofins..some don't. Some can shape shift..some can't. Some can fly..some can't. Some are repelled by crucfixes..some aren't. Some can be captured on film...some can't.
It's pointless arguing that something that a vampire can or can't do in, say, an old Hammer film, contradicts something vampires can/can't do in 'Coppola's Dracula' or 'Interview with The Vampire'.
This is, after all, a comedy film and so they have taken the aspects of vampirism that best suit their comedic needs.

digital cameras use CCDs which are more like retinas than mirrors.
