Soccer is equally dangerous!

ive had 4 concussions in two years of playing soccer and its not even pro level! also heading the ball everyday can cause sub concussive impact on the head.. its forced me to retire permanently as the effects are devastating.. im about 70% recovered but it will take me months and maybe years to fully heal from the effects..

Soccer is a participation sport, unlike American football, American basketball, American baseball -- where the few elite players who continue past high school are big and thuggish enough for Am football, 7 feet tall for basketball, or on steroids for baseball to ensure they maintain their elite standing. Most Americans past high school age are couch potatoes -- just watching these sports, not participating.

In Britain the football authorities have been looking into whether older players have had damage as they headed footballs that were a lot heavier in the 1960s.

Statistics dont agree with you. Football is number on for concussions. Soccer is number two. Football also has other serious injuries too, such as paralysis.

Joe Montanna just come out to say how damaged he is
Antwan RandalEL said he regrets playing football and had long term damage
The list can go on and on.

Some doctors have suggested that young brains should not play football. But bottom line, a concussion is just as dangerous if it comes from football or soccer or skateboarding

Soccer is so dangerous that people fall down in extreme pain even when nothing happens!

That Rugby vs American Football debate is full of more nationalistic bullsh*t than any other sports debate. One side is like "You guys are wimps for wearing pads" the other says: "Well rugby players wear booty shorts and stick their heads up each others a*ses!" etc.

The contact in Rugby and American Football are both violent and rough. But it happens a lot more, like A LOT more frequently in American Football. Rugby is a game of speed, movement and fluidity as much as it is about violent physical contact. American Football is about violent physical contact, violent physical contact, violent physical contact THEN speed, athleticism and agility. American Football is SO skill specific that there are guys who are paid MILLIONS to basically sprint head first into a brick wall 50-70 times a game. That takes it's toll. American Football is pretty much a human demolition derby. For the record about which player is more tough? I'll take a Hockey player over a Rugby or American Football player any day. Those dudes strap blades to their feet, skate around at 25mph, slam each other into walls and slap around a vulcanized piece of rubber at a guy standing in front of a net.

Last: Soccer players are incredible athletes. To say otherwise is absolutely insane. I watched a World Cup match once and got tired not because I thought the game was boring (the action around the net is every bit as thrilling as in any sport) but because those dudes were running so damn much. Respect that.

"Let's get out of here before one of those things kills Guy!"
