How do they know how to have sex? Plothole?

Are humans born with the knowledge of mating ritual, i.e. kissing, hugging, getting naked and inserting the male's penis in the female's vagina? Or have they seen some illegal porn movies? :)

Florinele, se cheama instinct sexual, prezent mai la toate animalele, inclusiv la Homo Sapiens Sapiens.

I can understand why they may not have known that the enjoyable activity would lead to pregnancy. If you think conception duty is how babies get made, then maybe you don't even know what semen is. I think the basic question of "how did they know Tab A goes into Slot B" has been erotically answered. Once you are kissing, things move along naturally, whether you have a clue or not. (Speaking from experience.)

I would make a pass at sex since it is just a matter of communication between the couple and finding out what part of their body feels good and they will eventually figure out how to do it, not to mention it is as many people here already stated a natural mechanism that every animal including Humans will know how to do it when the time comes. I can even put the hugging and touching in the same category since it is natural to feel good upon touching/being touched by the opposite sex while your hormones are sky high.

Kissing on the other hand is a BIG plot hole since it is rare in animal kingdom and it is not a natural mating ritual for humans. it is a social behavior that has been invented and taught throughout generations. Even today there are some cultures that have no place for kissing.

Yeah, because people didn't have sex before TV came around

We don't have a dog. That was just some really violent sex.

Along with all the human instinct etc..in the movie there was the Conception Duty positions (for keeping population up) and the videos that explained them so im sure there was some form of sex ed or similar.

Suppression of emotion doesn't preclude an understanding about sex. In the film, the adults know about sex, they just aren't interested in it and only do it when it is their assigned duty to do so (or they're falling out of emotional suppression and do it illegally as with our two love birds in the film).

They never showed anything about kids growing up and being educated and learning from experiences in that society. We just have to assume they learn about it like we do. They just don't make it an overt part of their culture.

Stepping out of the movie world and into the our world.. I think this is a fascinating question actually.. I'd really like to see an experiment done where kids are isolated from any sexual concepts from birth and watched up through teenage years.. and see how human instinct works in that regard. Unfortunately no one would do that because it would mean a lot of work in keeping a select group of kids isolated and in a totally controlled environment. Would be expensive.. and you'd have to keep it secret because bleeding hearts would try to attack from the outside and ruin the experiment.

It ain't rocket surgery.
