What happened to Denise (Zoe Kazan)

The last thing I saw was when she dropped by for a coffee and it seemed her husband was really trying to change her quirks and it doesn't leave her story in a good place. I'm wondering if there's more to her story after this for those who read the book. Or if anything more was mentioned of her in the series. Thanks.

Denise and her husband lived unhappily ever after in Texas. Wondered how they got from simply going to a movie (as a favor to the boss on the part of the guy) to being married. I didn't think he liked her.

Yes it would have been wonderful to have known for sure the reason why Jerry transforms from being just as "Mousey" as Denise was (as Olive puts it), into being the abusive bastard that he became when they visit Henry and Olive about 13 yrs later (Denise mentions having a 13 yr old son at the time).

Could he have been displacing the anger that he felt at Henry for rejecting his remark about getting him a better deal and taking it out on Denise??? Did he resent the way Henry refused to acknowledge that Jerry was no longer the same helpless kid who use to work for him at the pharmacy??? Or maybe he was just as jealous of Henry's former relationship with Denise as Henry was of the relationship that Olive previously had with Casey???

🤔

Henry told him it was none of his business (sale of the drug store).

And he in fact is exactly right, it was none of Jerry's business.

Yeah, and perhaps Jerry resented Henry's disinterest. Well, that's Jerry's problem.

No hardly any jealousy on Jerry's part RE: Henry's relationship with her. What would he be jealous of?

Yes, as I just mentioned in the other thread, Henry suspected Olive was attracted to O'Casey - indeed jealously and insecurity there.
