the uncovered porch

honestly.. i wouldn't even go up to a house that has no cover over the porch; especially in what appears to be a northwest-coast wet climate.

it just shows me that the owner is a bastard.
he wants to learn more about the religion? f*** you here's the pamphlet.

the end.

Solid post but I do find it amusing that out of all the details laid out in the film this is the one that you chose to poke at.
Still though, you make a great point.

i ran into a youtber video from an ex morman who explained as part of her experience it was so difficult sometimes to get converts they would be excited when anybody is willing to talk to them.. overlooking any red flags especially as young faithers was totally realistic in this movie πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

I had a friend in the service who signed me up for a visit from the Mormons as a joke once. When they came knocking I informed them that I didn't request the visit, that the request was a joke on the part of my friend. Their heads dropped in disappointment, but I quickly added that since they went to the trouble to come over they were welcome in to give their presentation.

They visited once a week for four weeks and then concluded by asking if I wanted to join their church. They knew where I stood by then and that the answer was no. But the discussions we had were enjoyable. I quizzed them here and there and it was obvious they didn't know anything off script. But they were pleasant and I more or less enjoyed the experience.

heh wow well thats going the extra mile! i have only ever had 1 unsolicited knock once from mormons.. i let them give me the talk for a minute or two and even took their bible . funny thing is i was best friends with a mormon for a few years in school, his family gave me a bible one time and i went to non religious church events but other than that they never really said like hey we'd like to see if you wanna become One of Us. i had more direct solicitation by the door knockers than i did in years πŸ˜„
